Freeing Up Space
Hi, I recently clean archived and installed and notice my X partition went from about 1.35 gigs of free space to 1.05. I still have the X.2.3 combo update .dmg lying around, just incase my computer ever poops out on my again, but other than that, what else was installed that I don't want? I removed about 50 megs of language resources, and plan to use OmniDiskSweeper later to look for some free space. In the meantime, are there any files I don't really need that I can get rid of? I switched my Swap File to my Classic partition, and deleted my old System from before I archived and installed. Thanks for the help.

Re: Freeing Up Space
Yeah, I chose just Epson, and then deleted the models that aren't my SC740. But wow, I must have gained 600 - 800 megabytes from deleting only some printer drivers, some fonts, a swap file I found that wasn't it use, and then other small miscellaneous files, such as Internet history, cookies, and cache. Any other suggestions to free up some space? What are installation receipts? May I safely delete those? How about crash logs? What are the ByHost preferences? I've run my maintenance scripts. Would it help any to run some Disk First Aid, PlusOptimizer, and DiskWarrior? I ran them after I destroyed my GUI, but then reinstalled, so maybe they would spiffy-ize my system a bit. Any other ideas to make my system a tad better? How many restarts with Cmd-Opt-P-R is a zapping of the PRAM? Apple says two but I've read four. Thanks for the help, have a great day!
