Repair permissions riligiously.

Always the first thing I do after upgrading or installing new programs. I knew I forgot to mention something in my first post. shrug

I've had the computer up and running since Monday night and have repaired permissions 3 times. I will be running Tech Tools once I get my Apple Care package which I purchased on Tuesday on line.

Re: 10.3.8 issues

Thanks. up
I had the 10.2.8 version and wondered if there was a Panther version out. I was going to check it out later today but that saved me looking. You're a credit to you species. big_smile

I downloaded it a looked at the options and noticed something different. It has an option to reprebind the entire system. Is this a good thing to do after having done a system upgrade or not?

I use cocktail and running pilot twice a week can keep that mini of yours in top shape.Or instead you could put your computer on a treadmill and keep it in good shape.*

Re: 10.3.8 issues

Anyone know about 10.3.8 causing problems in the vein of not being able to load the startup window?

I've had to reinstall onto another hard drive and try to get my stuff back from the others later. Arrgh. Knew I shouldn't of updated. What the hell is wrong with all these bad updates in a row? This NEVER used to happen.

I'm installing the 10.3.8 combined update now. Let's hope for the best.

Good luck. I reinstalled Firefox and used the combo updater and so far (knock on cyberwood) all is well.

Damn it...

Last night I figured that I would be safe to go ahead and upgrade to 10.3.8.  I guess not...  I came home today to find zero k available!  Doh!

How do I erase the log file?  It won't let me because it is owned by root, and I don't remember how to do anything with root.

Explain that to me like I am doing it for the first time.  And please, be gentle.
