Good CRT Monitor For Graphics

I need some expert advice as to what would be a good crt monitor for prefighting artwork and maybe some colour correcting further down the line.

This is what I'm using right now, Viewsonic PT813 which I've calibrated and tried different resolutions but can't get rid of a fuzzy appearance, especially noticeable with type, so I'm not sure if its the monitor or the video card that's causing the problem but it really bothers my eyes.

Thanks in advance,
Roger

Not a graphics pro, but I've heard many people, including my brother who works on graphics, recommend the LaCie Blue monitor. The 19" one is the most common but there's also a 21" model.

Ditto on LaCie, unless you want to get all crazy & go Barco.

Yep.
You just cant go wrong with a LaCie Blue.
Shop around, those things are getting astonishingly cheap lately.

I just got a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070SB to go with my G5 and I'm lovin' it.

Another vote for Lacie. However, a retoucher on our forum recommended a Sony Artisan monitor a little while ago. Claimed that it was even better than the Barco. Still not cheap though.

I also use LaCie and loving it. I've had it about 3 years now and it's still performing great. I've also heard great things about Sony Artisan.

I have a nice 19" Viewsonic.

Re: Good CRT Monitor For Graphics

I always buy CRT monitors used. That way they've had time to stabilize in order to not require calibration every two days... So if you see used LaCie's that are getting ditched in favor of TFT's you shouldn't be afraid of considering those as well, it might save you bucks and turn out to perform better.
