Re: Band Recommendations

nononono, if you like Zwan then I'd recommend you check out Smashing Pumkin's Adore album, I think it's much closer in style than Machina or Mellon Collie.  It's not as heavy, at least.

Re: Band Recommendations

If anyone likes anything along the lines of the clash, social distortion, the exploding hearts, the newtown neurotics, etc,
check out my band:
www.boulevardtrash.com
the mp3 quality is a little rough, ill be remixing them directly to computer though soon.
If you haven't heard of them, download the exploding hearts!
Absolutely fantastic powerpop-punk from the late 70s.
If pop-punk were still like them, no one would hate it.
Download the songs:
modern kicks,
throwaway style(you thought the strokes wrote that riff huh?)
making teenage faces
boulevard trash.

Don't worry about stealing the songs, they all died in a bus crash.  RIP

ATDI broke off into The Mars Volta and Sparta.

Re: Band Recommendations

I know Peach is gonna kick me in the groin again, but Sparta really is better than the Mars Volta. But ATDI was better than both.

Re: Band Recommendations

Also, (I apologize for repeats, but I'm not reading the rest of this thread) I highly recommend LCD Soundsystem, Metric, Mission of Burma, the Gift of Gab, Lyrics Born or any of the other Quannum Projects crew, Le Tigre, Secret Machines, AutoLux, and The Faint. As for heavy stuff, can't go wrong w/ System of a Down, and I mildly recomend Otep.

The Arcade Fire
matt pond PA
Beulah
Broken Social Scene
Jurassic Five and Blackicious(the safe rap choices for white boys)
Ben Folds. His live stuff is amazing.
