St. Pat's day is nothing but an excuse for a pissup. I can do that on my own time.

Yeah, I don't know how it got so big.  Alcohol, and the excuse to drink a lot of it, is the most likely culprit...

Re: Happy St. Patty's Day!

In northeast PA, all the bars open at 8AM on St. Patricks day. There's a parade at 10, and everyone has to get drunk before the parade.

Helluva lot of fun. I won't be able to make it to my favorite bar this year, which is sad.

And I'm too poor to afford Guinness, which is also sad.

Re: Happy St. Patty's Day!

St. Patty's day was fun when I lived in Atlanta.

I worked in Buckhead and my boss kept me on green beer runs all day.

We did nothing but drink and whoop at women passing by the shopfront.

It was like mardi-gras, but in March!

Re: Happy St. Patty's Day!

The St. Patrick's Day commute into NYC is always smurfy. Here I am trying to catch a few zzz's before I hit Penn Station, and all these college clowns hop on the train, blabbing and tittering about what bars they think they can score a free drink in. More than likely, they'll get lost trying to find Liam McDickhead's Tavern on 4th St. (who their cousin swore gave out free beers to everyone who showed up between 11am and noon), and end up at McDonald's instead drinking green milk shakes complaining how everyone carded them and they're still sober. smurfin' bridge and tunnel trash make me ill. mad

Oh, and happy St. Patty's Day to the rest of ye!  wink

Re: Happy St. Patty's Day!

tis a good day today

Both bosses are out of town, one took a week vacation the other went to Chicago to get drunk along with one of our sales associates, of course that leaves the rest of us in awe but we keep on working. May have to stop by liquor store this afternoon and get some Irish Whiskey

Ralph: He told me to burn things.

St. Patty's is real close to my birthday, so it always has meaning for me.

Also I like Celtic music.

Have'nt had a beer in a couple of months now, but I might pick me up a bottle of Extra Stout today!

Good for you.  Think of it this way, it's only a week and a half until Easter then you can eat all you want.  Until then I'm willing to share my bread.  Mmmmmm smells so good right now

Killians gives me the runs. Guinnes would be all right, tho - a little lighter than the beers I usually drink.

Re: Happy St. Patty's Day!

What's the difference between an Irish wedding and an Irish wake?

One less drunk.

What's an Irish 7 course meal?

A six-pack and a potato.
