Why is anybody paying attention to this guy? I'm sure there's a certain entertainment factor to it, but next to drudge, if there's anybody who deserves to be ignored into irrelevance it's Gannon -- at least until he's arrested for leaking the Plame info.

I happened upon something else potentially interesting about the Gannon/Guckert mess.
It seems that he bears a close resemblence to a reporter, Gabe Caggiano, writing for the Montgomery County Sentinel, who has written sympathetic stories about Guckert, and had many interviews with him. Caggiano is also an actor who appeared in one Matlock episode. IMDB also lists a Gabe M. Caggiano jr. as appearing in a porn flick series called, Passion Cove in 2000. It has been suggested that the physical resemblence between Guckert and Caggiano may be familial.
I don't know if it's the same dude, but it'd be hilarious if that were yet another porn link to Guckert.

Hi, this is Gabe Caggiano responding to Ribtorus. I know Jeff Gannon on a strictly
professional level, having talked to him many times before and after the daily
briefings at the White House. Regarding my appearance on the Playboy Channel series "Passion Cove", I had a small role as the director of a movie in the episode. Maybe I should be flattered or insulted, but I was the only cast member to keep their clothes on at all times. My role was similar to Burt Reynolds' in "Boogie Nights" and was filmed at Fred Segal's estate in Malibu. I only appeared in one episode and my acting was quite good, if I do say so myself.
