Re: What Speakers do you use or enjoy?
I love my klipsch 2.1... it's tough to get a good combination of good gaming sound and good music sound in one speaker system, without spending tons of money... but this one does it perfectly... i've had it for 4 years and it still sounds just as crisp and clear as the ones on demo in stores.

I should probably be embarassed, but I have the SoundSticks along with the iSub by Harmon Kardon and they sound GREAT!! I've had them for at least three years now, and I'm totally happy!
Thank God somebody else has got some as well
I was looking through the list and wondering if they were going to get a mention.
I *quite* like the soundsticks, but they don't put out as much volume as I'd sometimes like. I also managed to blow one so it sounds a bit dodgy above a certain volume. One thing that really annoys me is how weak the connection to the sub is - I have the sub under my desk, and the smallest tap from my foot and it unplugs.

Re: What Speakers do you use or enjoy?
I've been closely following this thread for a while. Once I've decided on a speaker, where is the best place online to find the best deal?
Also, I am looking for a less-expensive pair for the office ($75). Any recommendations on the lower-end speakers with decent sound?

Creative Labs Slim 2600 3-piece. It was very inexpensive and has good sound, for computer speakers.
there's really no need for all of this

I have a Klipsch 5.1 something or other, TOSLink connector and everything. Although the controller box has an annoying habit of shutting the speakers off if there's no sound for a while, resulting in loud pops as the speakers turn on. I'd like to find a system with TOSLink that doesn't have that problem, but isn't $$$.

I built my own using drivers from Vifa. I think they are quite good for what they cost me. I plan on building better ones using Scan-Speak drivers when I have the time and the money.

Re: What Speakers do you use or enjoy?
I found an unremarkable looking, but great sounding 2.1 system from rslspeakers.com. I read some where Dr Mac used these on his desktop and thought he wouldn't use anything except quality. $60.00 direct from vendor with satisfaction guarantee. I'm pleased so far with no distortion at higher volume and no hiss either. Mymac.com referenced these in a recent podcast and are offering these in a contest. Take a look. That's about all we can do because it's impossible to compare side by side multimedia speakers.

Tivoli Audio stereo setup plus bass speaker. It's actually an analog AM/FM tuner with one speaker in it, and a matching speaker-only identical box for stereo. Not much of a high-volume performer but the sound quality for the price is very true. Other speakers tend to have false sounding bass or thin high frequencies. Not so with these.
What he said.

same here, they sound awesome.

Klipsch ProMedia 4:1. I bought them from a guy at work a few years ago, and they sound great.

So, how does a top of the line (computer) speaker system compare with say, a good "Home Theater in a Box"?
