Re: Scary Wal-Mart piece.

Oh man I love a good anti-walmart thread. I agree with all of that article, except this statement:

Wal-Mart wields its power for just one purpose: to bring the lowest possible prices to its customers

There's more to it than that. They exist for power. Walmart wants it all. They are the modern equal of the Roman Empire...

I agree, but not with the Roman Empire statement. The Roman Empire went through tons of Emporers, most of them good. They made huge changes in the way governments work, and probabply for the better. Most people had an eqaul chance in society, and their empire kept many forms of art and archetecture alive, including Greek Mythology. They kicked tooty booty! (Most of them).

Re: Scary Wal-Mart piece.

I think Walmart believes they are doing good and I'm sure most of the Executives or upper managment believe it too.

But if the majority of the people loose their jobs as our own companies farm everything out-who will be left to buy that cheap jar of pickles?

It's philosophy is a shortsighted one and will come back to bite us bad.

This article might interest some. But then again, there's always that "I don't care, it doesn't affect ME!" crowd.
