Installing Pure Data and Pidip on my G5
why is this so hard? these are free software, and i really want to learn how to do the realtime video editing using pidip effect TV... but it is too unix for me. has anyone messed with this program for video installations on a mac? if you have, please let me know your experiences and any tips you have for the program.
I need to come up with something cool for my senior project using Pure Data.

You just answered your own Question.
*nix is not an easy thing to learn, or deal with in general (Unless you use it daily). If you are a GUI user trying to get stuff to work, you are most likely going to run into some problems along the way.
I don't think you will get anybody to hold your hand through such a large process such as getting PiDiP up and running (I could be wrong about that though).
Read the Read Me's and tutorials that you can find and learn as much about *nix as you can before you start messing around with it (You can cause SERIOUS problems if you dont know what your doing!)
