Aladdin has really gone downhill. Even before the Allume name change. Now it seems that they have a one trick pony for any possible problem - real or perceived.

Anyway, you want to download the Expander Standard (trial version):

Good luck.

Re: Stuffit Expander for PC (free?)

thanks derekm, that link helped.

i don't get why they are so shady about it all, why not just give away Expander for free, no questions asked? i mean, i don't love Adobe or anything, but giving away their Acrobat Reader for free has only increased sales of Acrobat Professional.

whatever /end rant.

Just curious - will Winrar expand those pesky .sit files on a PeeCee? I honestly have met very few people aside from Mac users that even bother with Stuffit honestly.

I'd assume it doesn't, since the WinRAR site doesn't mention the SIT format.  The list of formats they support is here:  http://www.rarlab.com/otherfmt.htm

Stuffit format is used mainly by Mac users since it's traditionally been a Mac format, the Windows version is relatively new.
