looking for good road map software for OS X

I'm looking for a some good atlas software for OS X.  My folks have a really nice program that is way more detailed than any of the online map sites, and is much faster to access.  What I really like about it is that you can find a point on a map, and smoothly scroll in any direction, anywhere in the country.  I don't remember what the program was called, but I do remember checking to see if they had a Mac version.  Of course, they didn't.  Basically, what I want is the functionality of Mapquest, but faster, more detailed, and with more options.

So does anyone have any suggestions?  I saw something called "Route 66 USA" in the software section of the Apple store online, but the customer reviews scared me away from that one.

Re: looking for good road map software for OS X

DeLorme used to put out Street Atlas for the Mac. Unfortunately, my version is about 8 years old, and I'm pretty sure it is no longer made for Macs. And it didn't do smooth scrolling.

If I knew what I was doing, I wouldn't be here.
