I would have included Pro Tools and Digital Performer on that list, but perhaps that's because I'm a musician.
As for the pizza pricing, you mention World of Warcraft is the price of 7 pizzas. You need to add that it also has a monthly charge to be able to keep on playing it. That adds up to a lot more than 7 pizzas, and also adds up to more than enough reason for me not to purchase it.

Great list!! Thanks.
You need to add a great game. Actually, when I played this game on a friend
however, for practical purposes, in a hopelessly practical world...

Got Quicksilver? Check.
I might add the fact that there are bunch of free mods of UT2k4 that really extend it's worth; e.g. Red Orchestra.

My favorite maintanance utility. Works grea, fixs stuff quite nicely and runs as a shell script so its got geeky coolness written all over it.
Even though its a terminal app its EXTREMELY easy to use even for someone like me who ordinarlily is scared of the terminal.

Friends,
can one of you suggest a way to import my netscape 7.2 address book and e-mail files on OS9.2.2 to a new imac on 10.4.2. I am having a very bad new mac experience. (I have a thread on this and didnot mean to hijack this but all seem like a smart group!)

Dunno if this will work, but....: can you export them as "comma-seperated-files" and addresses as vcards?....and them import 'em.
