Think this is fixable?
Just saw this: Broken R9700. Looks like he broke off a capacitor. So i'd just like to know, how easy would it be to repair this board? Would I just need to resolder the capacitor back onto it? Or is there more that would prevent this from working.

Re: Think this is fixable?
Yep - it's the capacitor alright. It's the one immediately to the left of the molex connector (in case you couldn't see it). And it's certainly big enough to cause the problem. The only question that remains is whether any permanent damage was caused by running it w/o the capacitor. I would say it's probably okay but I can't say for sure. Actually, I would've gone up to $15 for it myself if you hadn't beaten me to it.
My advice - get yourself another capacitor (the pins are probably broken off the original) and solder away. What've you got to loose?

What to lose? Possibly the card itself, graphics slot and possibly your whole motherboard if the your replacement capacitor isn't up to snuff or if your soldering is messy.

Re: Think this is fixable?
Actually I havent bid on it. Was asking about repairing it to see if it would be worth it to bid on.
Seemed to me the guy probably did something stupid when he tried to plug it in.

Re: Think this is fixable?
Well whoever wants it can have it. I just did a buy it now on another one that had free shipping. Was getting tired of seeing ppl charging over $15 for shipping.
