Firefox default theme
I feel bad for saying this, but I just have to get it off my chest. I should start by pointing out that I am a fully paid-up

Re: Firefox default theme
The default Firefox theme was designed for the Mac, and it was so popular that they designed to make it the default theme for both browsers.
I like it.

Is that for real? What's with the rough-looking 'spinning cog' then? Hardly the best looking clone in the world, is it. To me the whole shebang on the Mac lacks polish - so much in fact I figured the Win version came first...
Oh the things you learn!

Re: Firefox default theme
I removed the spinning cog, and repositioned the search box. My toolbars look like (firefoxtoolbars.png) this.

Re: Firefox default theme
Now that setup looks OK. I guess the cog and home icon are what really bug me, as getting rid of both seems to improve things quite a bit. But don't you miss the cog thingy? That's what I don't like about Camino. And the Home button is my third most-used, after back and fwd.
Each to their own though

Re: Firefox default theme
I dug around, and replaced the cog with a spinning Firefox logo. I also use the Mostly Crystal theme, with the marble background.
I liked Firebird's old Qute theme, but when they did Pinstripe I didn't like it at all. The final version isn't as bad as it originally was (I haven't changed the theme on my computer at work) but I still use my rather customized version at home.

Re: Firefox default theme
I've been thinking about this again today - busy in the office you see - and with the exception of arkayn who didn't say, you've all modded the default setup. Now, credit to Firefox for making the browser SO flexible in this way, but presumably you guys tweaked the UI because there were aspects you didn't like - the spinning cog being a case in point.
Obviously it's not possible to make something that pleases everyone, and that's not what this rant is about. I just think perhaps they could make something that looks better straight out the box, so to speak.
Or they could just include Qute 3, which in my humble opinion, is the best theme out there.
I don't know, maybe I'm just too picky having got used to the elegance and consistency of all my other 'made for mac' software.
Pah, what you gonna do?

I like it.
I think it's terrible. And that it's not hard to look better than most Windows themes.

Re: Firefox default theme
Well, unlike Safari, Firefox has themes, so if you don't like the way it looks, you can change it.
