Free FTP Client?

I've been looking for a good, solid, freeware FTP Client for really basic stuff, but all the freeware programs I've found seemed to glitch out on my Mac for some reason. They all had bugs. Can anyone here recommend a good FTP Client (for free) that I may not have seen?

Thanks!

Re: Free FTP Client?

RBrowser Lite is my most reliable free FTP client.    Cyberduck looks better but I've had Java incompatibilities.  (I like to not upgrade my Java.)

I use Cyberduck without any difficulty, but I keep my system up to date.

Re: Free FTP Client?

Take your pick. Most of these are p2p apps (MacUpdate really needs a different category for those) but there are plenty of free FTP apps to try out.
One thing you might have missed is that the Finder has basic FTP built-in. Just choose Go > Connect to Server.

Unless it's changed in Tiger (I don't have write access to any FTP servers at the moment, just SFTP), Finder FTP is read-only.  In other words, you can download, but not upload.  Which makes it no more effective than using a web browser (except Netscape 4, which had upload capability).

I use the FireFTP plugin for Firefox. Works fine for me.

Re: Free FTP Client?

I generally use ftp in the Terminal. It is the most reliable, at least for me. Doesn't work so good as web browser any more though.

Funny I've been using the finder's FTP and my drop box in Panther for months now and it uploads and downloads just fine.

Re: Free FTP Client?

I like the FireFTP plugin for the Firefox Web browser. It's quite convenient to have the two integrated
