Now that I have reflected on its design (which I initially thought to be somewhat pleasant), and seen those pics, there's only one comment I can make...

I must say that upon closer inspection that the PS3 is one ugly design, well at least for me, and that the controller just plain scares me!

It looks like a lot of small electronics coming out of japan these days. It screams "I really, really, wish I was a good enough designer to have been working with the prop department on X sci-fi TV show."

It looks like it hasn't figured out whether it wants to be slim or fat, square and boxy or curvy and rounded, or big or small. It looks like it is trying to be all of those at once, and failing miserably.

I'd want to see it in person before I made any comments on its looks. Sometimes things look like smurf in pictures, but in real life actually look pretty neat and vise versa.

It looks pretty ugly to me, but quite honestly, i don't care about the looks of it at all, it gets hidden away. As long as it fits above my Cd changer, and below my Tuner, i'm perfectly happy with it. I'm just scared about that ugly as sin controller.

weird, the playstation controllers are widely regarded as the best thing going as far as controllers go...why mess up such a great thing?

It looks like an all-in-one printer, scanner, fax and copier. I think all the consoles look bad. Nintendos Revolution looks boring, X-Box 360 is just ugly and I already mentioned PS3's problems. But remember what the DS looked like when it was unvieled. Then when they released it, they cleaned it up quite a bit. As for the boomarang controller from Sony, I'm sure it works great and feels good. But, I'm also a fan of the the Gamecube and N64 controllers.

I dont think that the unit itseld is that bad. Its a bit too fat to have the nice curve shape, but its still a prototype.
But the contoller.. sheesh...

the only thing i have against it is that because of the round shape you wont be able to stack anything on it, not good for areas with low space areas (like my desk)

The controller looks painful. I'd have to take breaks at least every ten minutes. Maybe frustrated mothers started a fund and paid Sony off! Mine probably donated.
Revolution looks like something Apple would make: beautiful.
