Printer Issues - Tiger
been Having some serious issues with Tiger in regards to printing. One, I can't. Two, accessing the Epson printer utility does nothing. By nothing I mean it freezes and won't let me even force quit the thing. My printer is unusable (only a year or so old)and it's locked solid. The only thing that will clear it is a resart (sometimes it won't let me do that either except a hard resart.)or if not too bad, a logout.
I deleted and printer files I hade and did a reinstall of the drivers but with no luck either.
Any suggestions?

Re: Printer Issues - Tiger
you said you reinstalled the printer drivers, but did you just use the install disk or did you check the website to see if there were updated drivers for Tiger? I had to do that when I went to Tiger.

Check for updates or do a reinstall of the drivers from the Tiger DVD.

Re: Printer Issues - Tiger
Try unplugging the USB cable, deleting the print queue and plugging the cable back in (while Print Utility is running). That seems to fix some Tiger related printing issues with Epsons

Re: Printer Issues - Tiger
Installed the latest driver from Epson. It's a year or two old but should be OK.
I did unplug the USB cable but the problem is Print Utility locks up on it's own. And now so does Windows Explorer but no loss there.
Otherwise I have not seen any other problems other than Safari can't seem to remember where it's preferences where. That is, quiting the App and restarting it the browser window defualts to a position partially off the screen most of the time.

Re: Printer Issues - Tiger
Open the Printer Setup Utility in Tiger. Select Reset Printing from the File menu. Then do the reinstall of your printer.
