Re: star wars: episode III reviews/discussion (CONTAINS SPOILERS!)
Man, this movie sucked. Awesome special effects, but same old bad, boring dialogue that plagued the other two prequels (ie., way too much talking and unncessary exposition). I don't feel the immediate urge to view it again like I did with any of the OT movies.
I know Lucas wrote the story for all six episodes, but I consider the OT to be canon while the prequels are only slightly better than some of the Expanded Universe crap that's out there. Of the prequels, ROTS is the best, but it still doesn't have the magical quality that any of the OT movies had.
Color me unimpressed...

Okay, just saw it. Been waiting to read and post to this thread.
Ditto what most everyone else said. Musically, I thought the inclusion of the "Vader" theme right at the moment of Anakin's conversion was way too blatant and unimaginative.

Re: star wars: episode III reviews/discussion (CONTAINS SPOILERS!)
'Nother thing here: I read some time ago that Lucas originally conceived of a nine-episode run, but later settled on "just" the middle three episodes then the prequels. So, anyone know what the general arc of episodes 7, 8, and 9 were to be? Were they even sketched out or something?
And some "final" questions here

I wish they would just end SG1. I mean 9 seasons, not to mention they had to come up with some copout about not having 4 team members?!? Come on.

1. There are absolutely NO safety railings in the Empire (except on that one walkway in Cloud City -- and that's not technically a part of the Empire).
2. It seems the only way to disarm a Jedi is to Dis-arm them.
Grandfatherly advice: You can drink 'em pretty, but you can't drink 'em smart.

Re: star wars: episode III reviews/discussion (CONTAINS SPOILERS!)
I saw this last night. Honestly, I wasn't terribly impressed. It seems like an awful waste of money to make a film so visually superb but not have the film itself live up to its visual appeal...
Honestly, there was one point in the film where dialogue between Portman and Cristensen made nearly the whole audience laugh out loud because of how corny and poorly acted and written it was.
It places the lotion in the basket

Re: star wars: episode III reviews/discussion (CONTAINS SPOILERS!)
I think they should have left yoda's fight scene out of AoTC and made up for it by making that film a little better. That way the first indication anyone would have had of Yoda's ability to still kick ass would have been him dismembering the two clones that were about to kill him on the wookiee's planet, rather than knowing Yoda would be fine and dandy.

At times I wonder if he even had a coherent vision between the last 3 movies. They really seem to be almost self contained.

Could'a been good. Damn it, beebs, why weren't you at Skywalker ranch to smack Lucas around when he was writing these? You know, maybe fix the dialogue too.
It's all beeb's fault.

Are you kidding me?
Jedis have been dropping their light-sabers left and right lately!
