eek Audioboxer that you linked to really sounds emo! I have North and find it to be more poppy punk, and was surprised that you had referred to anyone from Drive-Thru to be emo. up

Know what I hate? Classifying yourself by what music you listen to. Your personality is who you are, not the music you listen to. Anyways most music that people love sucks.

Want some emo fun? go here

I used to agree with that sentiment, until I realized that I am so metal.

Because remember folks, metal isn't about what clothes you wear... it's how big your balls are.

Phil Collins is therefore the most metal person ever.

I listen to tons of music, and go to shows often, and am a musician. I'm just saying that most music today, and I do listen to lots of it, is trite. I sometimes do have to stop listening to modern music and listen to stuff like jazz and classical. Maybe its just the corrupt record industries encouraging bad musicians, and then the good indie musicians are so overpressured that they crack after making one album. I think I'll stop before this turns into a rant on the music industry.

Well then the variety of the music that you listen to is what keeps you at an objective position. I have found that the people who listen to the same genres of music usually have the same likes/dislikes in other aspects of life, and they also end up finding that they get along with each other and have similar personalities/attitudes/dress. Music does not define a culture or cult, it reflects in IMO. But I don't want to get into that big_smile

But don't be surprised when people expect you to live up to that stereotype, and more importantly don't be angry.

Oh and for the record, Tooth and Nail/Solidstate is all right, even from an atheist's point of view.

Hahaha man whatever, Underoath hasn't released a hardcore album.
Their old stuff at best is deemed as bad metal... and yeah, it's horrible.
Underoath does not play hardcore, simple as that.

depends on your definition of hardcore. Some people use hardcore to define the fast and chaotic style of Black Flag. Some use it to define the sex pistols. Others use it to define linkin park(these people are idiots. But you should have already known that because they listen to linkin park)

The current definition of hardcore is very broad. There is no way that The Chariot and Underoath should be housed under the same genre. But still we persist to call both of them hardcore bands. Really, Underoath is screamo and The Chariot is Metalcore. But 8/10 people will call both of them hardcore bands. So whatever floats your boat or tickles your pickle for a nickel.

P.S I still stand by my statement that Act of Depression was hardcore. Changing of Times and They're Only Chasing Safety are screamo.

Kings of Leon are pretty cool, but I guess I like the fact that they are local more than their sound. Gotta rep it for Ca$hville pride, G.

If you want a good indie/emo band with some post-punk thrown in, than you should check out Be Your Own Pet. Home Grown, but quickly out-growing their home, Be Your Own Pet will be going places. Check them out, just do a google search for them.

I'm a big KOL fan, it's hard to beat Aha Shake Heartbreak big_smile. Except for when you realized that most of their songs are about dirty sex and whores lol. Have you watched the video on iTunes?

It's too bad they have been touring with U2 so much, I don't want to pay $70 to go to a show, and I would be going more for KOL than U2 anyways.

And if you like The Strokes and Kings of Leon, do you like Hot Hot Heat, Interpol, and the smaller-but-still-great Weakerthans?
