Thats an AGP slot and theres a card in it if its a Intel D945GTP.

Considering it's not a commercial product, it's no surprise it isn't decorated up all fancy-like.

Exactly - these are dev machines that probably didn't exist before the first rumored meeting between Apple and Intel a few weeks back. They're initial dev boxes until the real machines hit production. Don't expect anything like these when the real machines hit. But, at least, since so many people are mistaking these for production machines at least ya'll will be excited to see the real ones.

Ok, I want to cry now that I've seen those pictures.    Nasty stuff.


Next question we should ask ourselves......since we'll be switching to Intel chips and what not, and that motherboard is small in size, what am I to do with my 8Gbs of RAM that I stuck in my G5?     Besides that, I want Dual DualCore processors damnit!!

How will that affect marketing?

Steve Jobs:  "Haha!  We can stick 4Gbs of RAM in our new Intel boxes"......
Me:  "But my PowerMac G5 can hold 8Gbs of RAM."...
Steve:  "But with Rosetta you can run your mac apps on an Intel processor"
Me: "But I can only put 4Gbs of RAM into that thing..."
*Steve activates reality distortion field*   Steve:  "Macs are good on Intel chips.  The Intel Inside sticker is friendly...4Gbs of RAM is enough for anyone."
Me:  ".....Macs...are...gooo...on...Intel.........Intel...Inside sticker....is friendly and good....4Gbs of RAM...is....enough...for everyone.....BILL?!?!?!....."

They won't discontinue the G5 Macs until there's something better to replace them with.

Consumers are stupid (again).  They go blindly into the shop saying "Pen-ti-um Pen-ti-um" because that's all they hear on commercials.

im sure thats not the end all be all product or even close. thats a base PC, built to run osx only. nothing fancy in there at all. quit bashing it, ..lol it will probably still run circles around a G5.. , BUT in some ways it looks like the heat sink is really small for a P4. im just wondering if its more like a pentium m stuck into a box
