Why was the thread about the African American course in the Philly schools closed? Well, I suppose I don't need to ask why, I saw the penis discussion coming too, but I was all about contributing to the conversation (about the topic) until I noticed it was closed. Would it be uncouth for me to open another thread on the same topic (sans penises of course)?

Generally topics degrade like that when everyone's said pretty much all they've got to say on-topic, but if you feel that there's still life in that topic of conversation, go right ahead and start another.

Would the Powers That Be kindly explain why the "Christian living as a Muslim" thread got locked? There was some actually decent discussion in there, albeit with a wee sidetrack that petered out pretty fast and could have been expunged specifically if needed.
