Re: An "Is This Anything?" Thread
John Hancock = first post is "Almost Something". The problem is that it's just a name. It would help if he'd assisted Jefferson in the actual writing.
try this:
The Dionne Quintuplets = Five of a Kind.

It is nothing. All of existence is nothing. You're nothing, and I'm nothing. The only thing that really exists is Letterman.

Like crossword clues or something, or very short fake definitions.
Oil Monopolies = Greased Pigs
Ball Lightning = major league pitching
Shade Tree = Nightstick
Peeping Tom = Peeping Rosanne's ex-husband
In Arrears = bought cheap tickets
In Arrears = at the end of the line
IOU = The section of the newspaper after Art's & Entertainment (A&E)
Bedrock = hard matress
Some of these are obvious stretches, none of them, IMO, are funny, but I think they illustrate the concept... sort of...

There's a concept? Wow. I had no idea. In fact, I still have no idea!

Re: An "Is This Anything?" Thread
the rules on the show go like this:
a curtain is pulled back to reveal something - it could be absolutely anything you can think of...any physical object, act, anything
and letterman and, whats his name paul (dont watch it that often you see) discuss whether or not what they saw is something, nothing, almost something, etc......
like once was a guy juggling dogs or something like that.....its either classified as something or nothing
can be anything, words, picture, movie, concept for the internet version

Re: An "Is This Anything?" Thread
Then we need pictures, and we need to figure out whether it's a noun or not? Lame. Then again, I guess there was a reason I didn't watch Letterman.
