Hello. I recently traded an HP all in one (1315xl) for my EPSON Stylus Colour 740. That's because the HP didn't work with the oldish Windows 98 system it was bought for and the EPSON does.

The HP works. But it works sorta slowly. Just now I tried to print a 4 page PDF music sheet. It took like 10 minutes because it would keep pausing! Wowwww.

Is it because I have USB 1? ... hmm... I doubt it. But maybe. Is it because of the 320MB RAM and/or the 350MHz? I don't know about that, either.

The EPSON worked perfectly. And HP has crap software. It's so Windowsy it's not even funny. It came with like 50 billion different applications just to do 2 things.

The only way it's really better than the EPSON is that it uh.... ummm.... yeah.... I won't count the ridiculously loud non-cool sounding built-in scanner since I already have a better cool-sounding EPSON scanner. And I won't count it can print 2 more pages per minute because I don't care. So it's actually not better at all.

Though the printer itself is totally fine, I think it's the software. It extremely sucks that one can't use Apple's Image Capture or Print Monitor like you would with the EPSON scanner and printer.

But enough of the rant.

Why does the printer constaltly pause? It does this for one page documents too, but not as much. It would pause maybe once.

The file size of the PDF was 88KB.

I've got 10.3.9 on a 350MHz slot-loader iMac, USB 1, and 320MB of RAM.
