I was really excited when I read this, because the prize pack was awesome last year (iPod, 10,000 songs, but mostly a 17" PowerBook), but these prizes don't really move me.

Here I "borrowed" Apple's counter code from the page and made a cheeseywidget. Just for fun, my first.

The counter does weirdness when the it is off screen the counter will stop, when It refreshed it was out ahead of the webpages, I guess the XML file tells it to count just that range in the XML file and it gets updated faster than the loaded counter counts or something. I guess I could have it active when dashboard is hidden but meh.

You'd have to act a little faster to win this contest. Last time it took about 2-3 weeks to go from 75 million to 100 million, I see this one lasting half as long. They sell a million songs a day without promotions.

I think the whole thing is pretty cool. The grand prize seems a bit excessive though. Just by happening to be the lucky one who happens to click Buy Song at the right time, you get TEN iPods. Wow. Which ones would you get? I'd take one of each model.

I'd get 10 60GB ones just for the excess factor. Unless I had to pay the taxes on all that, adds up to $329, or essentially buying Steve a U2 iPod.
