HP Printers.

HP indicated to me that they will no longer support OS9.2.2.
Many of us use OS 9.2.2 for Adobe Illustrator 7 or 8.
The problem I have is that in the chooser the printer appears.  But the printer will not
enter as the chosen printer.
Does anyone know how to get the Chooser to recognize a HP Printer.
I am using an EMAC, and a HP 2355xi Printer.

Re: HP Printers.

Delete all the preferences having anything to do with printing. If that doesn't work, doi it again and reinstall the drivers.

Well?

Re: HP Printers.

Thanks.
That info is better than what HP provided.
HP was talking about setting up a virtual driver.
The info they gave me was crazy.
They do not seem to realize that a lot of computer users are into Adobe Illustrator
and similar programs that rely on OS 9.2.2.

I will try your suggestion on Tuesday, when I get home.
Going away, due to a religious holiday.
Thank you once again.

Re: HP Printers.

This is new information.
HP no longer supports OS 9. or 9.2.
I use Adobe 7 and 8.
Recommended:
Go to HP website.   To downloads.
Locate the old Drivers, which should be for OS 9.2.
After installation:
Test the printer.
What could happen:
The Chooser gives you strange messages.
Ignore the message(s).
Print.
You make get a message indicating the driver does not support the printer.
Ignore the message.
Go to Page setup.  If page setup opens the driver should be functional.
Then print.
The following day I received the message that the driver does not support the printer.
But HP 2355xi (purchased in COSTCO) printed my art work with no problem.
FONTS;  Remember if you are using OS 9.2.2  and OS 10.xx load the fonts twice, one for each system.  For us MAC users so far, we can load the old fonts.  I use DAVKA's Catskills,
and several other fonts from the 80's and 90's.  They still work for all systems.
Window users have told me they can not use their old fonts.
Other recommendations:  If still having a problem- TOSS OUT the HP drivers in the Extension folder.  There is also something called ATP I believe.  Recommended to toss out also.  But I could not locate it in my computer.  I would also recommend tossing out
all the Apple printing drivers for devices you are not using.  So you are only dealing with
one item in the chooser.
