Can I Join . . .

I have worked with Seti for a bit now but the site I was working with has gone from the web. Mac Observer I think was the place. They seem to have lost interest or no longer have a stats page.

Anyway will you guys let me in . . . and can I bring my units with me or do I need to start over? Either way let me know

Kind Regards

Well, you join up on the team page here, your work units should come with you. Just click the Join link.

If you haven't already, you should upgrade to the BOINC client, downloaded here, and re-activate your account for BOINC.

Re: Can I Join . . .

Thank you Mr. Moderator . . . lol, I am not a wizz or such and might need your kind help. I was not aware of this new thing . . . Boinc. Could you clue me in as to what is is and what I need to do to use same? I use the client version I think on my dual processor mac. My son the computer wizz set it up some time ago . . . and I just look at it from time to time.

I have just cleard the 20's a month or so ago so I hope they will help. Do I get to keep my count when I go Bionic or not?

Anyway thanks for letting me join in the fun with you guys. I always wanted to add them here but my son put me there. He has moved to Bentonville, WalMart HQ to work for them. So I am on my own, but with your kind help I should make it . . .

Regards,

BOINC is basically just a new version of the SETI software. It works a little differently, so you have to re-activate your acount, but all your old info is there, as well as credit for all the units you processed before March, 2005. Just download, install, and run.

Do you have MacOS 9, or MacOS X?

Boinc, not bionic. Like "Scientific progress goes boink" but with a 'c' instead of a 'k.' smile

Regards,

Glad to help, and congrats to your son.

You probably should have gotten a confirmation email, unless it was sent to your son's account.

You are more than welcome. Thank you for providing a place to do so. More so your personal work here, I should say.
