eWorld

Looked nice!
On paper anyways.
Wish I could have had a go.
Maybe a similar thing could be integrated in .Mac?

Re: eWorld

I think I remember using eWorld in 1994 on my Performa. Wasn't it a Mac online community software package that Apple pre-installed on Macs?

You got it.

eWorld, in a way, became AOL.

Re: eWorld

I was still using gopher back when eWorld was around. I didn't get on the "actual" internet until the free internet craze during the dotcom boom.

Re: eWorld

It was cool for 1994 but I've known for many, many years now what I want and where I want to go to get it on the net. I don't need a program to hold my hand. Thats what's soo stupid about AOL and their users (my sisters one of them) as they feel they do need this and AOL is their "binky".

Re: eWorld

I tried both eWorld and CompuServe.   CompuServe seemed to offer a little more freedom to roam, so I went with it.  Then I switched to a real ISP and haven't looked back.  It amazes me that anyone still uses AOL.

Ya, I don't get it.

A buddy of mine pays for a DSL line -AND- AOL... it makes no sense to me.

Re: eWorld

Yeah, the news reports on the radio station I listen to most are "brought to you by AOL for broadband."  Morons.

Re: eWorld

wwell, that's my thing. It just looked, to me, better than AOL. I think AOL and the lot are great to introduce you to the net as a taster. If you don't know what you want or how to find it. Or if you don't know much about computers, I think the concept is good.
