Yep. But what are you going to do about it? Hopefully, shut up and ignore it. That way the hate can fester until you murder Alien and, meanwhile, we all stay on-topic and have productive, happy threads.

If you did leave, could you give some of your capitals to gozer? I mean if you don't need them all...

You seem to be working on the assumption that Alien was the one who deleted the posts.

Oatmeal, you and others can choose to blame me for bad behavior on the part of others if you like. Nothing in that eWorld topic justifies Alien's personal attacks/trolling. Take off the blinders. When I have a complaint, it's not necessarily because there's some flaw in my character. Often, my complaints are perfectly legitimate, as they are concerning Alien.

Let's look, for instance, at Alien's "his comments were off-topic" justification for deleting the posts that came after his last personal attack in the topic.

Number of posts about eWorld by XYZ in the eWorld topic: 1
Number of posts about eWorld in the eWorld topic by Alien: 0
Number of personal attacks in the eWorld topic by XYZ: 0
Number of personal attacks in the eWorld topic by Alien: 3

What we have here is a moderator who was way out of line and has recently resorted to deleting posts in order to have the last petty personal attack post.

Far from this being an example of me "hating everyone here", it's an example of a person whose behavior is incompatible with the moderator position. Apparently, I'm not the only person who he's lashed out at.

Yes, plenty of moderators troll me. A few years ago, Jehannum, after trolling me, said "I just like to piss XYZ off". He pointed out later that he wasn't a moderator at the time, so his comment doesn't relate to his moderation. But, it's a fact that I get trolled and it's not my fault.

I was labeled a software pirate erroneously by Scott who was applauded by benighted for his personal attacks and who proceeded to personally attack me in his "apology", suggesting that I purposefully led him to believe I'm a software pirate so I could be a martyr.

The double-standard needs to go. It's one thing to post a somewhat strident critique of an operating system (an anomaly when compared to the vast majority of my posts in the last year) and quite another to personally attack other posters. Apparently, many think a corporation or piece of software is sacrosanct while name-calling and trolling is par for the course.

This whole thing could have been handled with the deletion of the eWorld topic, since it was dead from post 1. The recognition that there's no justification for the personal attacks would have been nice, too. Instead, this has been dragged out because of an unwillingness to do the right thing and an apparent pleasure in having the name-calling stand.
