Re: Mac mini

ooh oops, i didnt see that HE brought the thread back. Yeah dude, you don't need windows. I have a PC next to me that hasn't been turned on in 4 months, much less used in a year or so, and I do everything but play games on my mac. (same speed as the mini).

Re: Mac mini

Remember when the G4s first came out?  When a 500 mhz G4 was a "super computer" and perfect for video editing, etc?  Well now that computers have come a long ways since then, it still doesn't change the fact that a computer like a Mini can handle "pro" types of tasks, just not as fast.  Think of it as a Powerbook or iBook without a monitor attached.  Stick 1 GB of RAM in it and it can do about anything.

Re: Mac mini

well, at this point, i keep bouncing back-n-forth with the idea.  I have been wanting a mac for over a year and i told my wife tonight that I probably won't be happy until i get one ... even if i end up hating it... i'll never know.  but i keep hearing on how great it is and such a beautiful machine that mini is.....i might just do it!  smurf it...it's only money.

lol

Re: Mac mini

It's not like the Mini is a slow system. It hums along sweetly and sets you back O so little.
