Re: sleep light dying?

The sleep light "pulses" while the ibook is asleep.  Is about a 4 second period.

Re: sleep light dying?

Ok, this is weird. I read this thread yesterday and didn't think much about it - I have no idea what might be at the root of it.

My iBook rarely sleeps - I always shut it down at night because the BRIGHT, twitching, white light keeps me awake. Anyway, I just came upstairs and found my 'book asleep, having fired it up to check e-mails when I got in from work. The point is that my sleep light is now really dim too. It still fades in and out, but at it's 'brightest' it is now really, really dim.

Weird, eh! On the up-side though, I can probably start putting my 'book to sleep in the evenings now!!

Re: sleep light dying?

If the lid of the PB is open, then the light is about 1/2 as bright as normal. When the lid is closed, its full brightness. If that helps, even though this is nearing zombie status.

Re: sleep light dying?

well  mines worse now. i have to kind of open and close it and knock it on so to speak. POS. im debating whether to send it or just live with it. but you know i should send it in. i paid 350 or something for applecare so i should inconvenience apple a bit. when i called the applecare, it was like the tech was trying to talk me out of getting it sent in.
