Anyone speaks Ukrainian?

Some one wrote me something in Ukrainian and I have no idea what it says. I'm not even sure if I'm reading the letters right. Hell the big word could be two or three little words, I just don't know.

Мені Не Вцстачатцме Тебе

The middle word might also be spelt Вцстацатцме or Вцсгачатцме. Again I have no idea, can anyone help me out.

Thanks

Re: Anyone speaks Ukrainian?

My ex speaks Ukrainian.
She says it says
"I don't <something> you", where <something> is the middle word you're unsure of. She doesn't know what the middle word is. Apparently, "it's impossible for the first, second and third letter to follow eachother.. it can't be said. It's like 'btd', as an english equivalent". Her opinion is "the Us with tails shouldn't be there" (in the middle word)
Why is someone writing things to you in Ukrainian if you don't speak Ukrainian?
I hope I helped a little.

Re: Anyone speaks Ukrainian?

Maybe it is not Ukrainian? Could it be Church Slavonic?

Or maybe it is Ukrainian and whoever wrote it just can't spell for crap. That problem can't be unique to English writers.

Re: Anyone speaks Ukrainian?

My ex also knows about Church Slavonic and Russian.
It's not in either of them, she's said.
I'm going to go with spelling errors.
Also, Church Slavonic apparently only changes the way you pronounce words.
It's possibly in Russian, "but it's not spelt correctly no matter what it is"
(I realise what I'm writing is somewhat contradictory in calling something a "language" - just go with me on this, I know very little, I'm just relaying what she's saying in an effort to help).

Re: Anyone speaks Ukrainian?

Or maybe it is slang/abbreviation laced Ukrainian IM gibberish, typed thumbs-only on a cellphone. I've seen what IM punks do to English. I can't even begin to imagine how they would butcher other languages.

It didn't help, but thank you for the link. It looks like a good site for translations.

I would bet money that it doesn't say that.

I asked myself the same question.

Tell your ex thanks for me. If she is still feeling helpful please pass on the following because I don't have access to a scanner.

1st letter looks like a capital 'B', but I guess it could also be a 'Б'.
2nd letter looks like a capital 'U' with a little tail on the right.
3rd letter looks like a capital 'C'.
4th letter looks like a capital 'T' but I guess it could be 'Г'.
5th letter looks like a common 'a', the circle with a tail kind. Could it be and 'o'?
6th letter looks like a digital clock 4, it may be another 'U' but I don't think so.
7th like the 5th.
8th like the 4th.
9th like the 2nd.
10th letter looks like a capital 'M'.
11th letter looks like a common 'e'.

From my point of view they were all written to be "capital" letters.

Again thanks for trying.

Well someone thinks they are funny.

I am willing to bet it doesn't say that too. Also given that we know one of the words is "not" it really seems unlikely.

Re: Anyone speaks Ukrainian?

Can you copy and paste it?

By the way, I'd take jb's ex's word. The closest I best come up with in dealing with Russian pronunciation is btsstachattsme which from my brief experience dealing with Origa lyrics is short some vowel sounds but then again I am far from an expert. I don't even consider myself fluent in my native language, English.

Re: Anyone speaks Ukrainian?

She says the middle words means "sufficient".
So, the sentence is something like "I don't sufficient you"?
Perhaps it's "I'm not sufficient for you" or something like that…who knows.
Anyway, that's with some juggling of the letters you suggested. That was the only word she could see fitting.
If you need further help, let me know.

It's hand written.

Okay. Thanks. Tell your ex thanks a lot.

I don't understand why they would write that, but I guess it's better than "I don't like you". I guess it fits in with the rest of the card which is affectionate.

As to why it was written in Ukrainian. I can't go into details but I can see why they would not want me to understand it right a way. I had to leave town for work, I will not return tell December at which point they will no longer be there. We were not in a position to act on any feelings. Saying something like that might have started a conversation we shouldn't have had, given the circumstances.

I could almost read Ukranian after a few days in Kiev (Kiiv), but it's all gone, now. Too bad.

Especially the menu at McDonalds was funny, once it sunk in that they use the English names for the various items, but spelled in Ukranian.

Re: Anyone speaks Ukrainian?

Update:

Although I didn't get an answer about the spelling. I was told that the phrase as a whole is meant to express something along the lines of,

- all the things I have are not enough, because somebody is not there -

I am assuming that I am the "somebody", I don't know if something was lost in translation or if they were making a point by not using "you".

Not sure were I go from here, but thank you to everyone that helped.

My sig isn't meant to be a serious musical critique.
That being said - I generally enjoy the stones more than I enjoy the Beatles.
Except for all the pop covers the stones did early in their career before they really came into their own.
