Halo 3 Launch - National
Instead of the specific threads on locations let's just keep it simple. Who's going out tonight to pick up their copy? Where are you going?
I'm going to GameStop, in Mankato, with my buddy. He pre-ordered the Legendary Halo 3 Box.

San Francisco
I didn't pre-order anything. That's how I roll.
Wish me luck.

Picked it up from the gamestop 5 mins from my house, I didn't have a preorder and they had a total of 10 left after preorders (somewhere around 170 total). There were maybe 10 people there to get the game.

Hit a couple of Gamestops near Levi after driving out for midnight launch. No joy on my Collectors Ed (all reserved but plenty of Leg Ed; I smells a rat
). Levi got his Leg preorder and a Collectors for me next AM. A bit later we played co-op straight thru.

So who has already beat the game?
My buddy and I conquered Normal in 8 hours. Now we are taking on Heroic. I must say the leap from Normal to Herioc is huge. It has taken us 2 hours to go from the beginning to the Brute Bomb section.

Re: Halo 3 Launch - National
Me and two friends beat Legendary in about eight hours.
Wait.
They came over at four, left at 10... what, six hours?
Felt like longer.

I'm about 4 hours in right now. I picked up a Collector's Edition and a Xbox 360 Elite last night and stayed up till 2:30 playing. Sucked ass getting up at 5 this morning.

Damn straight. I nearly had to chop off my hands and leave them there playing so I could go to bed! Right now I am trying to figure out why my video seems choppy and somewhat pixelated. Running it on my 22" LCD monitor with Component hookups. The video is far better than my original Xbox, but not as good as I expected.

And the display make/model, so we can look up specs and try doping out your video problems. It normally should not be choppy or pixellated.
Hope you sprung for at least the Collector's Ed, only the two higher SKUs have the A/V calibration tool. (And AFAIK the Bungie store still doesn't have the blue plastic sheet for real fine-tuning. Can't MS get a product launch right? A simple plastic sheet...
)
Hay, L, let him finish the Campaign first! (Unless he's up for Co-op already).

Haven't transfered my Xbox Live sub yet. My router took a smurf a few weeks ago and I haven't gotten a new one yet, so I can't hook it up yet. On my old Live account, my tag was either [MA] Orion or MA Orion
