Yeah Blizz is known to help a lot on these.

Only thing you can really do is to just avoid a lot of mods and run mostly stock. Myself I only use CT, Bossmods, and KTM...then maybe SW stats. Still a chance a keylogger can get through but at least avoiding some of the other tons of mods helps that.

Well, after scanning my computer with Ad-aware, SpyBot S&D, Norton AV, AVG, and PC-Cillin, the keylogger did turn up.

No more admin privileges for her account.

I'm on a PC,

And I don't think UI mods can sniff out your password, because they usually load after you log-in.

It's people who use installers to install UI mods who may be adding keyloggers at the same time.

Might bring some warm fuzzys back.

September 24, 2007 (Computerworld) -- The 25-year-old programmer who unleashed the Panda worm almost a year ago in China was sentenced today to four years in prison, a news service reported from Beijing.

Li Jun, arrested in February and charged last month with making approximately $13,000 selling the worm -- dubbed both "Fujacks" and "Panda Burning Joss Sticks" -- was given a four-year jail term by a court in Xiantao, China. Three other men -- all in their 20s, according to the Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA) wire service -- were sentenced to between one year and two and a half years for their part in spreading the worm.

Panda's main purpose was to steal online game usernames and passwords, another fact that Cluley noted today. "[We] have noted that a surprising proportion of malware written in China is designed to steal credentials from players of MMORPGs (Massively Multi-player Online Role-Playing Games)," he said. "This stolen information provides a revenue stream for unscrupulous hackers who will sell the information on to the highest bidder."

In my years of playing I've known a pretty fair number of people who've sold their accounts (obviously against TOS as everyone knows and loves to remind others of).  The funny thing is, an equally fair percentage of those people who called Blizzard and reported their accounts as being hacked got them restored.  So basically they got the 500 bucks or whatever for the account PLUS the account itself....  I'm not at all advocating this but I find it kind of amazing that people are that unscrupulous

A classmate and I were discussing WoW.  He claimed ot have done just that:  Sold his account for 400 dollars US, and a few weeks later, in a fit of angst,... and wanting to play his old character, he called Blizzard, said "ZOMG! My account has been hacked" and got it back.

I used to like this guy.  I dont anymore.  When I asked him about it, he said "meah, whats the other person going to do... report me?  Blizzard will just ignore him"

What a muppet.
