Film site IESB is reporting that Steven Spielberg is in "active negotiations" to produce a film based on the Halo franchise.

Specifically, Spielberg is said to be "blown away" by screenwriter Stuart Beattie's (Pirates of the Caribbean, Collateral) recent spec script based on the Eric Nylund novel "Halo: The Fall of Reach."

"Reach" serves as a prequel to the original Halo game, explaining the origins of the Spartan soldiers and Halo hero Master Chief.

Course I haven't gotten any for awhile. Was interested in the soundtrack from the 360 Conan game. They released a CD on launch for promo things but finding it online is next to impossible, even thru mp3 rip sites. Contacted the composer and relayed my interest. He actually replied to me, thanked me for my comments and said he'd try to bring it up with some folks at his business but otherwise nothin. Shame how many of these games over the years never got soundtracks made...well unless they were popular in Japan. Over there they do tend to release a lot of video game scores.

It's actually strongly reminiscent of the Neill Blommkamp shorts released summer '07 which seemed to be both part of the H3 runup and intended to build momentum for the Jackson/Blommkamp Halo movie. Did you see either/any of those? There were a number of them, including some shorts just before release, by other folks. Some at least should still be available; I'm pretty sure I archived most as well.

They vary in spoiler value. You've likely intuited enough of 3's plot that some wouldn't be damaging. I'll look for a few when I've time.

Well, you've seen some gameplay footage- we'll be good to go, esp. at night in VIZR mode. Crack their shields, then a quick headshot or two from the un-nerfed pistolah. Brute chum.

It's the first part that'll be a li'l tricky at higher difficulties. Hudson gets you killed morer. wink

Not unlikely it's a temporary exclusive those two places. Expect to see HD for general DL at some point.

halo is just too much of a twitch game for me to be successful at it. As a result I get frustrated. AA3 would be better for me, but the training part to qualify for a position in the game is what I just don't care for. At least you don't bunny hop there.

You bunnyhop in Halo Campaign, or L4D is less 'twitch'/slower-paced than Halo 1? confused Are you speaking perhaps of online deathmatch-style Halo multiplayer?

My jumping is fairly limited even in Halo MP, much less campaign/co-op/anything AI-driven. I only jump in those types to avoid something specific, reach higher ground etc. Reflexes, speed, coordination do help considerably, but I've a hard time believing L4D doesn't benefit in roughly equal measure.

Be nice if we could play some co-op sometime or somethin'... as it is, Halo Legendaries of my dotage, let me count the ways...
