Gore wins Nobel Peace Prize in Science
Al Gore has won the Nobel Peace prize for his work on raising awareness of global warming.
Now the big question: will he run? I highly doubt it, but I wish he would.

I just read that there is a movement to have his Oscar taken away because of the lies-can't be a documentary if it's not true.

In practical terms, Al Gore has a week or 2 to announce; there are a number of states with filing deadlines to get ones name on the primary ballots.
If he announces today, it won't been too soon for me.

That seemed to me to be a rather weak-ass list. Calling Gore a liar is a stretch.

Hey, that list had at least two correct accusations on it!

So if the judge got more wrong than Gore, does this mean the judge is a liar?

It wasn't for science, it was for peace. And he shared it with the UN department that focuses on global warming.
I had a debate with my girlfriend about this last night, she's a big admirer of Gore (is reading his new book right now). However, the way I see it, while he's an effective voice for global warming, he's right and famous, while there are human rights advocates risking their lives every day for justice and getting zero reward for it ... frankly awarding the latter individuals seems much more in keeping with the (supposed) spirit of the peace prize.
Certainly it's hard to imagine Gore as now being on a par with Martin Luther King.

Amazing that Kev should link to some obscure British political party. People like that are the guardians of truth!

Oscar, Emmy and ... Nobel? That doesn't win the trifecta, Al.
And I see no need for "An Inconvenient Truth - The Musical". Remember, it began as a staged performance piece. Let's help Gore get it to Broadway so he can get his Tony.

I'm a little surprised that he did win, though I guess the media attention is good. Personally, I don't think he'll take on Hillary.
And is there a politician out there that isn't a liar?

That's the difference though. I know and will admit that Clinton was/is a liar. So is Gore.

Re: Gore wins Nobel Peace Prize in Science
I think the biggest problem with the peace prize is that it measures accomplishment on such a short-term scale. It should be a lifetime achievement award kind of thing, not a "oh you did x this year, here's a prize!"
That way they'd have avoided unfortunate things like awarding Kissinger.
