Awwww...I'm sorry. If I decide I want to jump on it, which I probably will, I've got several Apple Stores just a few minutes down the road
I can wait til the last second to pull the trigger.

Re: The official "pulled the trigger" (10.5)
I pre-ordered a family pack and will get a friend from Canada to send it out to me.
Otherwise I'd have to wait a few extra weeks and pay double when it is eventually sold here.

Re: The official "pulled the trigger" (10.5)
Just to piss everyone off I'd like to be able to say I already have my copy.
But that is just vaporware.
Soon, very soon, I'll get it.

Re: The official "pulled the trigger" (10.5)
I was going to preorder it, but decided to wait until it comes out and people have played with it a little bit. Just to be aware of any bugs or whatever and give Apple time to release any needed updates. I want it so bad though!
Plus I need to decide if I should get the Family pack to have it on my iMac and MacBook, or just get it on my iMac.

Going to either buy a MBP on launch or just get it now and steal my brother's copy when he gets his MacBook.

Re: The official "pulled the trigger" (10.5)
So all you guys buy the family pack just to put it on a second computer? Or does the software actually prohibit it now?

No rumors of Apple doing that yet so I'm banking on them trying to be legit.
Apple is one of the companies I'd not mind going that extra mile but thankfully I don't have to.

I'll be putting it on 3 for sure. I guess I'm just a guilt ridden kind of guy.
I don't believe Apple currently checks. The license does specify it is for one computer installation only. They can read your Mac serial number if they choose to when ever you communicate on line with them, like when you update software or buy a song on iTunes. Which means they could know if you have the same copy of OS X installed on more then one computer. I've never heard of them busting anyone for putting OS X single copy on more then one computer. So, for me it's just a personal ethics thing.

Re: The official "pulled the trigger" (10.5)
I'll probably wait a few days (I will probably be out of town). I think I'll just use my iPhone freebie and then buy the family pack, so I can install it on my Mom's iMac and my Grandma's mini if they want it. (hopefully the mini can hack it)

Re: The official "pulled the trigger" (10.5)
I pre-ordered yesterday for my MacBook. It is supposed to actually deliver on the 26th so that is good. With the closest Apple store 3000 km away, picking it up on 26th wasn't really an option.

Re: The official "pulled the trigger" (10.5)
The Exec here had me pre-order it for the 4 Mac owners (out of 75) in the building.
Got it thru Amazon, $10 cheaper than the Apple Store.
I don't think I'll be installing it right away, though...at least on everyone's machine. I'll install it on my mini & see how it goes, and then get everyone else up to speed if all goes well with Exchange/network setups/etc.
Beauty of the Family Pack is that with 5 licenses, I can take the one that's left and put it on my iBook since I use it to work from home sometimes. Plus, I can't wait to see what extras will be enabled on the 'ol iPhone.
I hadn't planned on buying Leopard for awhile otherwise.

I'm gonna wait 'till you guys get it figured out.
A month or two, maybe I'll wait for the first update.

Apple's os prices are so reasonable, you would have to a complete ass to cheat them. Thats just how I feel.
I personally have 3 (non server) macs (PM G5 D2.3, PB 1.5 12", iMac G5) My girlfriend / fiancee has a Macbook, and my mother has a Macbook.
We almost have to buy 2, because we also have 2 mac minis, one of them i used to serve our apple tvs the other isn't being used at all... so those won't get leopard anytime soon.

Re: The official "pulled the trigger" (10.5)
Just compare the price for a full version of Vista to that of OS X.
The only time you can get close to the OS X price is when you opt for a disabled, crippled, chopped up Home version.
Oh wait, that kinda describes even the Professional Ulitmate version doesn't it?
Snide remarks aside, you get more for your money, and the price is reasonable. Unlike the bloat that MS has foisted un the public. If one would believe the claim that with volume prices come down then MS XP should have been selling at $100 or less, and Vista shouldn't be sitting at almost double of the OS X price.

My dad just ordered a family edition, which I'm very happy for . I study in an other country though, so I'll get a copy elsewhere to do the install.
In spite of my mistrust toward 10.5, being upgrade obsessed makes me look forward.

preordered it. Going to initially put it on a different drive. I am not especially worried about bugs and such, but I want to change over slowly, and take advantage of the opportunity to get rid of some items in my current set up.
