What things are you most looking foreword to in Leopard?
Here’s my list of favorites:
Boot Camp
If you boot your Intel Mac into Windows, Apple now provides updated drivers that are Microsoft certified, so Windows doesn't throw up warnings when you try to install them. The keyboard drivers also better map keys to Windows functions.
Enhancements to the file system mean you can wipe out your Windows partition and restore the disk back to Mac OS X using live repartitioning.
The Dock, Desktop and Finder
I like everything about the new finder but am a little concerned about this new feature and what it means:
A new feature of the 3D Dock is "Spring Loaded" icons. Drag a file to a Stack or an application, hit the spacebar, and that folder or application opens up, allowing you to drag your icon directly into the context you want.
I am hoping this doesn’t mean that you HAVE TO hit spacebar to open a folder/application in the Doc when dragging a folder/app over it as opposed to just dragging the item over the app in the Doc and letting it go, which is the way its been for awhile now and which I like.
Front Row
Leopard delivers all of the features of Apple TV (apart from a dedicated YouTube client), so you can use your laptop to stream content to your TV from another system's iTunes library, using the same "10 foot interface" you can control via remote control.
Network Utility
Leopard adjusts your TCP buffer size automatically for "optimum application performance in high-bandwidth/high-latency environments." It also provides new tools for AirPort wireless networks.
Photo Booth
Takes four shot pictures like a real coin-op photo booth. Create new photo effects, and record videos. Export movies or Photo Booth slides into animated GIF icons for use in iChat.
I could careless but my kids like Photo Booth.
Printing
Live previews of print jobs in print dialogs. Location manager smart selects the default printer when you travel. Software Update offers to install new drivers for your printer as the manufacturer updates them.
Safari
Movable Tabs let you reorder pages and drop all open windows into a single tabbed one, or drag a tab out into its own window. Safari warns you before closing a window with multiple tabs. Create a bookmark that includes multiple tabbed windows. Visual Find command highlights occurrences on the page. Purge history items automatically.
And its supposed to be even faster!
Spotlight
Solve equations, find definitions in the dictionary, launch apps instantly with just a few keys, do more complex queries, select search by file name or content.
System Wide Features
Media Browser integrated into open file dialogs, so you can browse your photos, movies, and music and open them in any application. Scroll through the content of open windows in the background.
Leopard mounts filesystem using separate threads, so unresponsive volumes don't slow down the system. Optimizations for dual core processors.
Improved help guides highlight menu functions in applications. System wide spell check is now combined with grammar checking. Vastly improved text to speech. Keyboard based drag and drop.
More speed and now system wide grammar checking = sweetness
Text Edit
Autosave in Text Edit, support for Office 2007 and OpenDocument files compatible with Open Office.
Time Machine
Intuitive backup and restore, with automatic scheduling, exclusion lists, and disaster recovery options that plug you backups into the reinstallation process.
And of course Spaces and Stacks, etc. But I only listed some of things I’m looking foreword to. What about you?

This one was a pleasant surprise!
Pr0n Veiler
Tucks all of your pornography away from the spying eyes of of spouses and significant others while keeping it conveniently located in a central location. Pr0n Veiler will inconspicuously re-name all of your files and open them in the new Pr0n Viewer, which reads even the most obscure Windows-based codecs. All this, plus it keeps all opened files out of the Recent Items folder!

Has anyone seen anything regarding Resolution Independence since all the new features have been formally released? I certainly haven't.

Currently dropping on a folder in the dock only moves/copies to that folder. That shouldn't change. What if my home folder is in my dock, but I want to put this file in ~/Documents? I need to open the home folder first, then place in documents. With this new improvement, I can drag the file to my home folder in the dock, then press the space to open the home folder, then drop into the subfolder I want.

As a Mac Consultant who has to support others, Time-Warp is #1. Setting up a quick, easy back-up solution will be fantastic...
FOR ME, its the little things like the NOTES feature in MAIL and syncing to iPhone... That alone is almost worth the price for me!

Re: What things are you most looking foreword to in Leopard?
So on the "300 new" features page they list 5 new features for front row. but only one of those is a new feature. i don't get it.
i think alot of those new features are "new" compared to os10.3 but not 10.4

Technically Front Row was not part of 10.4 but the system software for specific Mac models. It has finally been officially integrated into the OS under Leopard but only the Mac models with the Apple Remote hardware can really utilize it. Also some of the preexisting features have been fixed and or improved upon. Still I do think Apple would have been more honest saying 300 new & improved features.

Re: What things are you most looking foreword to in Leopard?
I'm really looking forward to Spaces the most, to be quite honest. The new Finder features and also the features in Mail entice me into buying it, but for my work I run a MacBook Pro and use Parallels Desktop for any windows apps. It will be nice to have a dedicated Space for my windows apps where they run full screen and then other spaces for the other software I use.
On a Mac OS X Server related note, the IT department I work in is pretty excited for the Directory feature. We're trying to incorporate mapping software to help us know exactly where a computer is in the company and it seems Directory will allow us to do this better. Also, the Wiki server and the iCal server features seem nice.

I certainly hope you're being a nice Mac consultant and explaining to all of those nice people that Time Machine only makes “temporal” backups, and not bootable backups

Looking foreward to the new finder, but then again, it's still carbon..

Re: What things are you most looking foreword to in Leopard?
I highly doubt the Leopard Finder is Carbon. It's supposed to be Universal Binary which means the code had to be converted from Carbon to Cocoa in order to be used.
Then again unless some developer breaks NDA, I'm guessing we wait for the launch to find out for sure.

My only real concern is how easy it will be to hack 10.5 to run on a computer I have built.
My priorities have changed since I have finally given up any hope for improvement and am abandoning Apple's hardware. I am past bitching, now I am focused on problem solving.

My Favorites (pre actually having a copy to play with):
Time Machine - Total back up with easy single file restore - that's the ticket!
iCal - Even though it's not listed on their preview page. Almost up to speed with outlook and with iCal server, can exchange events, to do's, etc with most other popular calander applications.
Spaces - Not sure how I will use, but, it'll fun playing with.
Finder & Desktop - I like the new organizational and ease of use features.
Leopard is

It's kind of obscure, but I am actually quite excited about Automator's new record feature. If I am reading correctly, it actually provides a way for you to record scripts for applications that aren't coded to support Automator
Second on my list is my hope for greater Intel optimization. I have heard it is quite fast on Intel hardware and is more stable.
Lastly, I am interested in Time Machine.
I would get more excited about the interface revamp, but since discovering Crystal Clear for Tiger, everything else seems to pale in comparison.

Besides the above, I hope this new technology also completely stops beachballing during network connections/attempts/drops, while at the same time, stops beachballing/big delays when Secure Emptying the Trash. It sounds like it should!
In fact, it sounds like the dreaded beachball may be practically a thing of the past!
Things are definitely looking like they will be very "SNAPPY" for Intel systems due to highly tuned optimization.
