I'm curious if Hillary Clinton's ties to Wal-Mart, and by extension the destructive phenomenon of "Wal-Mart Nation" (monopsony, monopoly, excessive consumerism and the general destruction of national competitiveness), will get as much play as a corrupting influence, as Cheney's ties to Haliburton.
Somehow, I think the right will have to limit their criticism to charges of hypocrisy rather than the actual effect (if any), of those ties. I think by now, Wal-Mart, which is responsible for about one in five retail sales in the U.S., is sacred to both parties, the government, and even the nation.
