That's it. I'm leaving, too...
Because, I was just going to go pick up a copy somewhere

Re: Leopard just shipped!
I ordered Leopard on the day it was available for pre-order... mine hasn't shipped yet. The Apple Store still says that my order is "prepared for shipment". Maybe the FedEx flight from Memphis (where both the FedEx hub and a big Apple distribution center are) needs a bit longer flight time to Boston than it does between Memphis and Fort Wayne?
Still, when the FedEx guy knocks on my door tomorrow, I'll be ready.

Re: Leopard just shipped!
Double post but whatever - I'm psyched.
My Fed-EX tracking info says as follows:
Oct 25, 2007 5:46 AM Picked up SCHAUMBURG, IL
Estimated delivery
Oct 26, 2007 by 10:30 AM
Looks like I will be installing 7 1/2 hours before you can get it at the Apple Store! SUCKERS!

Installing in the shop atm.
Just on a store machine for the time being. Stacks and gridview will open a finder window if prompted. Stay tuned for more...

Re: Leopard just shipped!
25 min on my MacBook. The fresh install takes a while. Man they improved the install process as well. On a Leopard loaded machine atm, it's great!

Likewise in Japan, but, alas, I am now briefly in America. I just went into an Apple shop and asked for the newest OS X (my computer shows Japanese time so I thought it was being released), and the attendant thought I was insane. Well, perhaps she was right. I guess I'll just have to take another trip into town tomorrow.
Cheers,

Re: Leopard just shipped!
Hate do be a downer, but the more I use it the more hilarious I find it that you all are getting so excited. Maybe I'd be more impressed if I actually used Mail, Safari, iPhoto...whatever. The Finder sure is no big deal. Ooooh there's a glowing blob under running apps in the dock instead of a black triangle. Ooooh there's a stack with a mess of icons instead of a handy hierarchical menu...wait, that's no good. Oooooh you can now see through the menubar so the green at the top of my desktop picture makes the bar itself look a funny gray/green shade that doesn't match the other apps I have open and the horizontal blue M|LF bars almost look like selections...trippy.
I've not given up this cat yet. I'll have more time to play when I don't have real work to do. I promise to give it a fair shot. Back to 10.3 for now
(oh and can somebody confirm my Spotlight complaints when you get a chance?)

Re: Leopard just shipped!
I use Mail and all of the iLife apps. I like the new Leopard look as well.
I have been on the edge since 8:00AM EST waiting for Leopard. It's now 15 minutes to 1:00pm. They said it would be here by 10:30
every time I hear a car or truck go by I look out the window.

You should call FedEx. They are usually very serious when something is scheduled by 10:30. That means it is shipped via FedEx priority air, which the customer (Apple) paid extra for. Call those bitches up. Mine was delivered at 9:25am

I'm going to give it a little more. If it doesn't come I'm going to be pissed.
Edit: It was shipped by FedEx Priority Overnight.
