Anyone else NOT installing Leopard?
I am so glad I resisted the urge to upgrade to Leopard on the release date. I have spent lots of time since the release date reading about others experiences, and whatever under the hood performance increases Leopard might offer, it just isn't worth the headaches and usability problems at this point.
I'm not saying I would never upgrade, but Leopard will have to be a lot more stable and usable before I will install it. Tiger is rock solid on my machine, and I see no reason to ride the bleeding edge.
Anyone else holding off for awhile? What will have to change in Leopard for you to upgrade?

Re: Anyone else NOT installing Leopard?
I'll be holding off a long time. I mean, I have Tiger, and it's serving me well. 10.5 is just not worth the $$$ yet. Maybe I'll get .6 or .7, who knows.

I have at home, but at work I'm just gonna wait 'till Adobe puts out a patch. Then I'll most likely be OK to do it. I haven't found any show stoppers at home, but hearing that Adobe has found "a few bugs" in "limited testing" tells me to wait.

Does CS2 work with Leopard at all? Or is one forced to upgrade to CS3 to run Leopard?

I won't be installing it because I don't have the money, however, I am getting a new MacBook this week and it will have Leopard.

Re: Anyone else NOT installing Leopard?
I have an older Mac (G5), so I held off on ordering it, but I went to the Apple store last Friday and played around with it. I really dont like the dock, folder icons, menu bar look, and I am worried about whether it would slow my machine down rather than be peppier and more efficient. I dont have intel chips on my machine and I get the feel like this OS is really geared for that and not necessarily mine. I know I can run it, but I dont really know if I should. I do plan on updating the OS at some point, but I'm probably going to hold back until revisions are made.

FWIW, both my G4 machines feel faster with Leopard, so I think your G5 will be OK.

Re: Anyone else NOT installing Leopard?
I see no reason to upgrade. I don't like pretty much any of the arbitrary UI changes, and I'm not going to blow another 4 GB of hard drive space and 512 MB of RAM on eye candy. I have work to do.
With my best friend at my side,
I face the new day in full stride.
I don't know what the future holds,
But I'll be waiting, proud and bold.

I won't be upgrading to Leopard until I upgrade my computers, in another 6 months or so. Should have most of the bugs out by then.

Here's Adobe's .pdf on the subject of Leopard compatibility:
Adobe PR dept wrote:
Q. Will older versions of Adobe creative software—such as Creative Suite 2 and Macromedia Studio 8 software—support Mac OS X Leopard?
A. While older Adobe applications may install and run on Mac OS X Leopard, they were designed, tested, and released to the public several years before this new operating system became available. You may, therefore, experience a variety of installation, stability, and reliability issues for which there is no resolution. Older versions of our creative software will not be updated to support Mac OS X Leopard. For a complete overview of compatibility between Adobe creative applications and Mac OS X Leopard, see the chart on page 2.
In other words, "We really hope you do encounter problems so you're forced to buy the upgrade."
I'm in a similar situation with Rapidweaver, a website design app which came out with a paid upgrade recently. I hadn't planned to upgrade to their latest version, since I'm happy with the current app's abilities.
For me, this question of software compatibility is the big thing holding me back. The last thing I want to do is spend $$ on new versions of software in cases where I'm happy with the old version.

I'm guess all of the money was spent on a new machine and theirfore "DLANTZ again" lacks an addtional 129 to upgrade the balance of his computers.

I'm not installing it. My system is exactly how I want it to be. Upgrading would mean a lot of work getting everything back to how I want it again.

Re: Anyone else NOT installing Leopard?
I wasn't going to, but I ended up getting a copy. I'll slap it on the G5, see how it works.
And you can bet I'll be doing an archive & install. Thanks, early adopters!

I'm glad I got it. It has been ROCK solid. I haven't had any apps crash or blue screens. Maybe I am just lucky?

I have it, it's sitting on my desk. I've ordered an external hard drive. I want to do a backup before I install. I may also wait until a point release or two.

Re: Anyone else NOT installing Leopard?
I am standing pat with 10.4 hor the time being. Tiger is just absolutely stable and functional for me and at least from what I have been reading in reviews for every cool new thing in 10.5 there are 3 that just blow chunks
One big thing I would have to sit and really think if I could even function without folders and the associated hierarchical menus in the Dock. I have sat and really thought about it and I will be damned if I can think of anything I would use stacks for.

I'm strickly bleeding edge. However, I will install it from scratch on an separate HD, not my main boot drive. That way I can have the best of all worlds.

I installed it at home, but I will wait and wait and wait to do it at work; no sense in putting my production machines at risk of not working right.
