Problem with MacFreePOPs
Hi!
MacFreePOPs v.2.3 enables me to download messages off my Yahoo (web-based) mail account, but I can't seem to send any email from the "Mail" client.
Here is the "Error" message I get:
This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.
The attempt to read data from the server “yahoo.com” failed.
Any advice or similar software to use?
Running OSX 10.3.9
&
Mail 1.3.11

Re: Problem with MacFreePOPs
I was pretty sure about this so I looked and it was confirmed in the manual
I've installed FreePOPs and properly configured my mail client, but I'm unable to send mail...?
FreePOPs helps you only in receiving messages. To send mail you have to use the SMTP server of your network provider. If you don't know what SMTP to use, see your ISP website or call their tech support.
You need a valid POP mail account to send and your ISP has probably given you one. It doesn't matter that it's not the same as your actual email address since you're just going to use it for outgoing mail. Leave your reply-to address as your yahoo email address and nobody will know the difference.

Re: Problem with MacFreePOPs
Thank Potty, I give it try and see how it does...
P.S. I always used to notice how you were from the same area as me in Mass... But now I've moved to Kansas.
P.P.S. Does anybody else here use MacFreePOP? Just wondering... I really can't find a similar software and maybe not a popular way to get webmail to an on-computer email client??

Re: Problem with MacFreePOPs
Usually those web only email services don't make it easy because they want you to pay to upgrade to the POP service.
