Re: So........UPS hate?

Why don't you redirect to where you work?

Trying to image everyone working there as half trained chimps is helpful in so much that it gives you such a reasonable explanation as to what to expect from them.

i honestly believe they are trying to drive me certifiably insane.

last night we made arrangements to have it held at the hub. i got up ay 7am to call and check, and what do i find out...?

its on a truck for delivery.

"oh, but it'll be there by 10.30am, sir!"

"no, it won't! it wasn't here yesterday by 10.30am, and it won't be here today by 10.30am, because no one will be here to sign for it even if it IS here by 10.30! why was it sent on a truck when i spent ten minutes waiting for a request to be put in to hold it? could you check that please?"

"we never got a request, sir."

"thanks. goodbye."

so the saga continues. no one will be here today to accept delivery. hopefully i can get home from work quick enough today i'll be able to place a call and have them hold it when it returns to the hub this evening.

this is just outSTANDing.

Either redirect or, well, just show up. It'll be sitting on the truck overnight for the next day's delivery. They can send somebody out to fetch it while you wait. I'd call first and have a customer support case# handy, but yeah, whatever.

I have consistantly had the fastest, cheapest, most reliable, and least problem-prone service from the US Postal Service. Paying parcel post (lowest rate for a package) I've had things come cross-country overnight.
