What was your first and last vehicle?
Just out of boredom and curiosity, what was your firrst car owned, and what do you currently drive... or not drive if you no longer have a license (don't wanna know!
).
If ya really enthused, even mention all the ones that came between.
My first cars were jointly a 1979 Mini Moke 998 and a 1983 Holden Commodore stationwagon... neither ever got registered and the Moke got sold to purchase another classic car after being used as a paddockbasher then being deemed by myself too impractical for regular use onroad. The Moke was great fun but they really are useless as a daily driven car... even if fuel economy i great!
Curently I own a 1976 VW Kombi camper that is my daily driver and resto in progress, a 1974 VW Superbeetle undergoing a rebuild (saved it from scrap), the same '82 Commodore mentioned above (still not seen the road outside my street since), a 1952 Morris Commercial LC5 truck awaiting restoration (a family heirloom), a 1974 VW Panelvan for parts, and this week i am picking up a '76 VW Panelvan to rebuild.
I also had a hand me down 1989 Commodore wagon for a while alonggside the Kombi, but it got too expensive to run and maintain...

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
First car: 1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible (mine was black w/ black leather interior). I was a spoiled 16-year-old brat who demanded that car from a local used car lot. It was a classic at the time (1986).
Current car: 2003 Ford Escape XLT (looks exactly like the one in the pic, only without the window sticker.

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
Damn that Cutlass is a nice looking ride... I shudder to think what the fuel conumption would be like tho! Had a look at the Nova too and noticed it bares a striking resemblence at least in hatchback form to an AE-86 Corrolla Seca.

My father had a Fire Engine Red Olds Cutlass Station Wagon. Had a small block V-8 engine. Gas was only about 20¢ a gallon then, and a couple of gas stations would have price wars. Sometimes gas was being sold at 10 and 11¢ per gallon.

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
I got my first car when I graduated from HS in 1997. It was a blue 1994 Ford Tempo.
I totaled it in March 2004 (my fault).
My next and current vehicle is a white 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4. When I got it, it had about 86,000 miles on it and it now has nearly 100,600. It needs servicing, but I can't afford it. maybe next year.
right now, i am daydreaming about owning an early 80s model GMC G-series van and "fixing it up."

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
First was a 1990 Hyundai Excel hatchback 5 speed with no AC. In Texas. A killer.
Now I drive a 2006 Mazda 3 5 speed loaded. Love this little car.
My favorite though was a 1991 Mazda MX-6 turbo. That car was fun.

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
First car was a 1980 Chevy Caprice Classic. 305 V-8 Called it my land yacht because you pointed it rather than steered it!
Latest vehicle is two actually, 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Edition. The Grand is the DD and the Wrangler is the fun one.
In between I had a '94 Dodge Intrepid which I liked (mmm leather seats) a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab (nice 4x4 truck) and a 1997 Chrysler LHS (leather seats again!)

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
First was a Honda Accord Fastback 1980 I think....
Next was a 240sx, since the Honda was stolen 2 days after I paid it off.
Then on to a Nissan Pathfinder...
And now I have a Mazda MX-5...which is a kick in the pants to drive, but really does suck in the snow....oh well. I am in walking distance to the grocery store and bank, so I'm not too worried.

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
First car was a 1971 Dodge Dart Custom. All the motorheads I knew were jealous because it had a 318 V8. I liked it because it got me from point A to point B.
Next car was a 1983 VW Rabbit diesel. I was my favorite car of all.
Currently, my 1995 Ford Aspire is sitting in the garage where I work and it is not working, so I am driving my partner's 1996 Chevy conversion van.
I need a new car.

First Car = 1999 Silver Honda Civic
Current Car = 2008 Navy Blue Honda CR-V
The sad thing is, when I gave the silver Civic back to my dad, it only had 54k on it. I've had my new car for 2 months and it already has 2k on it.

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
First: '96 Mazda MX-3
Current: '87 Porsche 944
The former was great on gas and very nimble, but a pain in the butt maintenance-wise. The latter is pure sex to drive but old and therefore finicky (not to mention very tricky in the snow).

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
First: Early 70s Volkswagen "hand-me-down" beetle. Floorboard were literally coming off.
Favorite: '91 Honda Accord LX – 293,000+ miles when I retired it! They weren't kidding 'bout the longevity of Hondas.
Current: '98 Ford Escort – 170,000+ miles currently – not bad.
All of these are Manual "stick" transmissions BTW.

Based on the findings of the report, my conclusion was that this idea was not a practical deterrent for reasons which at this moment must be all too obvious.
