I had 2 '77 Camaros. The first was a black and silver and it was a 4 speed with a 350 4 barrel and straight headers. I got that one (pre headers) at the beginning of '78. I loved that car.

Datsun 210 first (1982 maybe)
BMW 528i 1999 last (I drove by one on the FDR the other day that was sideways with the whole front end totalled, police already on the scene)

Hope you don't expect a new VW to be any better. Ugh.

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
In the last ten years:
Jetta mk1 (first and best in many ways)
vfr500 (wrecked on third day of ownership)
yj wrangler (sucked on and off the road)
suzuki sidekick (surprisingly high quality)
chevy corsica (nearly indestructible with the four cylinder and five speed)
cx500 ( used as a courier bike for about a year then I got bored with it)
chevy s10 blazer (junk)
honda civic (you have probably owned one yourself)
subaru gl wagon 4x4 (went everywhere the jeep could not, drove until a wheel broke off, and then drove it some more. This car had about 250k on it when I sold it to a friend for a few hundred. He took the thing across the country and is still driving it 2 years later)
gmc sierra ( an old 4x4 farm truck that was more like piloting a barge except with worse mileage)
toyota pick up (traded for the GMC, the frame was MIA from rust, live and learn)
BMW 328 (still miss this one but had to sell to go back to school)
honda civic wagon (does nothing for the ego but gives little excuse to sell)
volvo 740 turbo wagon (current. was free with bad trans, sat for two years prior and has many many electrical issues)
Now I'm looking for another old cfi VW. Let me know if you hear of a nice one.

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
First 1986 Buick Skyhawk (2-door Grey...) - 1998
My grandmother gave me it. Well, it was sitting in the yard with a For Sale sign on it for months before. A few weeks after getting my license I ran it into a tree outside my driveway while pulling out of the... driveway. The car lasted a few months more after that (With a huge indentation pushed in bumper and hood that wouldn't close or open.) before dying completely.
Second 1986 Plymouth Reliant (2-door white) - 1999
My grandmother got it for me to replace the dead Skyhawk. This one lasted a while before I sold it to my sisters then current boyfriend for $100. He overpaid by $99.99. It was big. An old lady's car. Huge-ass. A couch on wheels.
Current 199? Mercury Mystique (4-door Red-ish) - 2004
My grandmother gave it to my sister. My sister gave it to me when she got her own car. Really nice I guess. Much better than my first two. The radio (That was my sisters) is worth more than the car itself.
So yeah. I have had three cars given to me for free. Gift horse. And my grandmother is nice and giving.

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
1972 Buick Skylark - 350/4 barrel purchased in 1986 and given to me when I turned 17 in 1987. It was fast, faster than those specs would indicate, the thing screamed. I could burn out and do smoke shows at will and beat many Chevy, Impala, etc, when raced. One owner, my parents literally bought it off a little old lady with 70k on it. It had an ugly gold body with an equally ugly gold white top with rust around the quarter panels and around the where the white top's seams were. Gold bench seats and column automatic shifter. Ugly car but I loved it and still wish I had it today. The thing took a licking and kept on ticking years after I sold it.
Today I drive a 2006 Ford Taurus. It's a good family car and I have no complaints although I wish it was slightly better on gas.

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
I used to have one of these MG Midgets (American model, though):
I think mine was a '72.
I only drove for about six months. When I started to wreck it (I had three accidents in that time!), I got rid of it. Anyway, it's like someone said to me: "You gotta be a mechanic to own one of those things."
VERY true.
Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

I only listed my first and last (with the exception of the mention of the 2 Camaros). I couldn't list all the cars i've owned. I can't remember them all. Heh.

I had a red pedal car.
I found out how much those things were selling for a few years ago and tried to find it but my pa had already thrown it away.

I had one that never worked. A neighbour gave it to me.
I envied his Mattel Big Wheel.
My first working vehicle was a red and green tricycle. Not as cool as the Big Wheel, and instead of that loud hollow plastic rummble sound of the Big Wheel; mine just squeaked.
But I stole a set of handlebar streamers from my brother's bicycle and clipped a playing card to the front fork, and I had myself one sweet ride.

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
I started with a 1980 Chevy cargo van that I pimped out 70's style but with 90's audio tech. Blew up the engine, replaced the engine, and everything else fell apart.
Moved on to an 89 pathfinder until it fell apart.
Bought a 2001 Plymouth Neon on teh cheap and never liked it.
A few months ago I went back to Nissan and bought another PFind. 2004 this time. I heart my car again!

First and only is a '91 BMW 525i. It has 180-some-odd-K miles on it, a bad auto trans, but I love the thing, even though it's a real guzzler.

Re: What was your first and last vehicle?
My first car was actually a '73 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup that I got for $600. Taught my brother how to drive in that thing and am in the process of restoring it today. In fact, I actually got a set of custom guages for it this Christmas.
My first actual car was a '73 Plymought Satellite. It had a 440 ci V8 with a 4bbl carb. Too much fun. I have since sold it to my Dad.
I have two rides at present, my daily driver, a 92 Dodge Shadow with over 260,000 miles on it and still going strong, and my pride and joy, a 1968 Dodge Charger w/440 and 4 bbl carb. My favorite car of all time, and tons of fun to drive.
