need to remove hard drive from biege g3
Hello all, and thanks in advance for the help.
I need to remove the hard drive from a G3 desktop so I can mount it in a firewire external enclosure and access it via a newer computer. I've got the G3 open, and I see the drive, but I can't see how to remove it without breaking the plastic tabs pinning it to the metal base of the G3. I looks as if the tabs need to pinch inward to allow the drive to be pulled away from the metal base, but they are difficult to move, and also they need to move in opposite directions, depending on which side of the drive they lock down. I'm not sure whether these tabs are attached to a plastic housing for the drive which I will not need, or if they are an integral part of the hard drive which I will need intact for mounting the drive in the new enclosure. I'm sure there's a proper and easy method for removal, but I'm not seeing it.
Any ideas? Thanks again.

You're quite welcome!
Based on the findings of the report, my conclusion was that this idea was not a practical deterrent for reasons which at this moment must be all too obvious.

The beige G3 HD's mount on sleighs if i remember correctly and you should be able to press the plastic tabs to the left to remove the HD, however it looks like you were able to resolve your issue on your own. Dont hesitate to ask further questions if needed
