Re: Fox Vehicles Vandalized
That "bitterness unprecedented" remark was over the top.
Note that I didn't quote that bit.
However, O'Reilly does have a point -
Fox has invited the liberal candidates on numerous times and they refuse, while conservative candidates have gone to the liberal networks.
What's really funny - fox has specifically invited the liberals on, the liberals refuse, and then complain about fox not being balanced. They have an opportunity to have their say and don't take it!

Re: Fox Vehicles Vandalized
Maybe they don't go on Fox news because they fabricate stories that smear people they don't agree with. It isn't just the democrats they smear. Fox targeting Ron Paul is a great example of that. They're a propaganda machine with an agenda. Bill is nothing but a bully who tells the teacher that he didn't punch the kid in the face, he was just trying to get rid of a spider.

Ha... what "liberal" networks?
None of the other networks lean left anywhere near as much as Fox leans right.
At worst, you can construe them as left-leaning, but this is a far cry from liberal.
And considering how terrible the majority of Fox's commentators are, compared to the other networks, I'm not really surprised politicians don't want to appear. I'm especially not surprised Obama's staffers snubbed Fox, considering Fox made up a bunch of BS about him being an American-hating muslim terrorist ( http://thinkprogress.org/2007/01/19/fox-obama-madrassa ).

What does their decision to not appear at the FOX debate have to do with the alleged violation of O'Reilly's "rights" or the unsubstantiated claims of "vandalism?"

It demonstrates a general attitude that certainly exists among the left.
They won't go on Fox News.
Fox News has had some stories they don't like so they've taken their marbles and left.

Res, they don't go giving interviews to other media that routinely fabricate stories either. That media source is called the tabloids, by the way.

Fox does not fabricate stories.
They give a different perspective on some stories, they report different things, but they don't fabricate stories.

Hillary has most certainly gone on FOX News before, as have others. How laughable that you attempt to paint the dislike of FOX by some as some sort of disdain because of hard-hitting journalism ("stories they don't like") from the network.
What happened to the main subject of this thread? Do you believe O'Reilly's 'constitutional rights' were violated? Was his reaction appropriate?
In his article, O'Reilly accuses people from 'the left' of vandalizing FOX News property. Has this accusation been substantiated elsewhere?

I bet those who claim that Fox makes smurf up have watched less than an hour of it last year (would have this year, but I've watched less than an hour of it this year).
Your opinions are formed based upon the select segments talked about with spin on clearly biased leftist websites.

I watched far more Fox News last year than I care to think about. The stuff gets piped in to my workplace. matt's assessment is pretty much spot-on. Like how ORLY, when things like the Imus story come around (i.e. anything involving racism), gets "the other side" represented by either a Black Panther or Black Muslim. The headline that really sticks out in my mind was "Democrats say we've lost in Iraq... Al Qaeda says U.S. winning... Who do you trust?"
I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

From 2000-2004, I probably watched more Fox "News" than any other channel.
I quit watching that trash in 2005, but if you'd like, I can describe the shows that aired during that time:
Hannity & Colmes, with the relatively-good-looking Sean Hannity and the looks-like-a-caricature-of-a-liberal spineless Allan Colmes, with guests Susan Estrich, that guy who used to work for the Clintons but now hates them, Oliver North, Ann Coulter, and any other big-name Republican or Democrat-whom-you've-never-heard-of in the world
Bulls & Bears, where they aired this gem:
<crusheconomy.jpg>
Your World with Neil Cavuto, which if I remember correctly was another financial show. I don't remember much about it, other than Cavuto loved to hate liberals
Judith Regan Tonight, which I think was some book discussion show(since she was a publisher). I never watched this one.
O'Reilly. Man, I disagreed with everything that he said, and I was still deluded on several issues just from the misconceptions and outright lies and fabrications this guy spewed(and likely continues to spew) to this day
Special Report with Brit Hume, which I oddly enough, don't remember feeling as entirely-Republican-biased as the others
There was a show with Tony Snow, who was such a good mouthpiece for the Bush Administration that they offered him a job as their official mouthpiece.
I think John Gibson took over Tony Snow's position(but keep in mind that I haven't watched the network once in almost three years). John Gibson was another Republican mouthpiece, who, coincidentally, I used to watch years before, when he was on MSNBC.
And no, I don't frequent "leftist websites". The news site I frequent the most is heavily-biased toward Ron Paul(who I don't want to win, but that's a different story).
res, you have no concept about that which you are arguing. Fox News makes up stories by turning them into questions and insinuating(a la the picture I posted above). I have years worth of experience watching Fox News. I am more-than-slightly-familiar with what I'm talking. And that claim of "clearly-biased leftist websites"? That sounds like something you read directly off of O'Reilly's teleprompter.

Even though I really dislike the right wing in the US, I find Fox News more entertaining than the other 'liberal' news channels.

Is there an actual press report of this alleged hate-inspired violence against Fox?

Only O'Reilly has mentioned it as far as I know.
I'm not sure Fox wants to report it. What purpose would it serve for them to do so? It's not really a news items, tire slashing rarely makes the news. Sometimes when striking union members slash the tires of scabs and management it makes local news, but rarely national.

O'Reilly is FOX.
And, this is a national campaign. Something like this should show up SOMEWHERE...

Re: Fox Vehicles Vandalized
Ah, Fox News. Is it any surprise that many Democrats won't do the show ?
They accidentally label Rep Foley as a Democrat. They mistakenly run Sen. Obama's picture with a Osama Bin Laden story ( or was it visa versa). They, especially O'Reilly, constantly insult and call Democrats names, just because Fox doesn't like them. Insults that have nothing to do with policy. Childish name-calling on a "news" station ?
I did see a piece with (I think) Speaker Pelosi...another "guest" on the show as Ann Coulter. Of course the moderator was conservative. Of course Ms. Coulter was spouting complete garbage, with the "moderator" just watching with a smirk.
Fox News isn't a respectable news agency. There's only so many times they can ask liberals "have you stopped beating your wife" before you can expect liberals to quit playing along.
Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.
