Re: Pet Peeves
Review of an item for sale on the Apple website:
"I bought this and tried to use with ipod but the screens are very low res and the screens looked very small in front of your eyes. returned immediately. Misleading features at best"
That thing wasn't in front of my eyes, or the reader's eyes, yet that is what the writer stated. Why don't people use "my eyes" when that is what they mean? The writer is actually attributing an experience to the reader that likely did not occur.
And, note the use of the word got. It appears to be replacing many other different, useful and meaningful words. Got is changing our language into a flat and dull product.
And the use of the word product when describing an item. Instead of using its actual name, it is called product. Does anyone eat their breakfast cereal, or do they eat product?

The only place I've seen them is chinese restaurants. I've never had them in a japanese restaurant. I do very much prefer the bamboo ones, you can actually pick things up properly.

I saw them in cheap Japanese noodle shops.

While wooden chopsticks are much cheaper per set, the plastic chopsticks can be cheaper in the long run because they can be washed and reused.

forks are actually a fairly new implement, compared to chopsticks.
and chopsticks are pretty fun, keeps you from eating your food too fast and looking like a slob.

People who type "and" when they meant "an."
But really, product goes in your hair. I've never heard it used to refer to cereal or anything else.

I was at a meeting of insurance salesman once in my role as a photographer and I was greatly amused by their reference to the various insurance policies that they offered as "products".

Yes, exactly, and banks that call the services they offer "product."

No they aren't, we had two. One in their bedroom and one down stairs in a side room. Not only do they give a dedicated place that is stable as well as the correct hight to change your kid, they have storage for diapers, Desitin diaper rash cream, and clothing.

No, I'm boycotting the Sporks until they stop picking on the Taco Bell hot sauce packets.

Re: Pet Peeves
People in grocery stores that start writing their check AFTER all the items have been totaled. Start filling in the information prior so everyone doesn't have to wait for you to take your sweet time. .
People who you are talking to on the phone who are constantly telling you to hold on while they are simultaneously talking to or yelling at their kids, husband, etc. My sister does this 4 or 5 times during our phone conversations. It's so annoying and I've told her so yet it continues.
People who can't drive and talk on a cell phone at the same time. These people are oblivious to their surroundings, drive way to slow, don't use their signals, don't yield when they are supposed to, and the list goes on.
Common sense isn't so common nor is common consideration.
People that bash everything Apple when they have never used an Apple computer but act as if they just know better.

Or equally annoying, when people bash a good MS product just because its' an MS product.

People still use cheques to buy groceries??

Just annoying people do. Such people usually do a couple of other annoying things prior to writing their check. These are the same people that will argue that something is discounted when it isn't requiring a price check and further delay so they can save a few pennies.

I used to write checks at the grocery whenever I needed to kite the money until payday (usually the Friday before), but now that won't work.

Well that certainly is a fascinating notion. Which MS product do you think is a good one?

not really. The Zune (by itself) is pretty decent. The software and music store for it, however, is a different story.

um...I'll get right on it?
I was just making a point that not everything MS does is crap. I have no reason or motivation to hack a zune to work a different way.
