Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles
I thought it would suck, but the first show was pretty good.
I'm adding a TiVo season pass.

Re: Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles
Saw both episodes. Pretty good I must say.
And Summer Glau is even creepier as a terminator than as River, but not as badass.

I like it too. Plus, Ms Conner and the boobed robot are hot.

Re: Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles
I haven't watched the show but the ads for it just make me wish Firefly were still around.
EDIT: Uki beat me to it.

BTW, all Firefly eps can be DLed from Xbox Live.
(Perhaps in HD- I forget offhand).

Re: Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles
I only saw all of the Firefly episodes and Serenity within the past month, so it's kind of odd to see Summer Glau in this. But I thought episode 1 was good, and I'm looking forward to episode 2.

Not totally impressed with their choice for Sarah Connor; she should have been older/more badass than this. Also, the knowledge that they're going to fail eventually, and that both Sarah and the Riverbot are going to die (to fit in with Terminator 3) means that you can't really hope for any of the characters.

Re: Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles
Checking, I see all of Firefly, all the Star Treks, all of Babylon 5 including movies, and this new Termie Chronicles (ep 1) available. Mostly widescreen 480p, a few in 720p. Oh, and all the Twilight Zones. Quite a sci-fi lineup.
No Serenity movie so far, but (some) original Trek in HD... wow. Balance of Terror... meet the Romulans, in 720p (!).

Re: Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles
Man, I don't even have a TV any more. That's because neither myself or the wife really want one, but this show makes me almost want to get one. We've just been using the laptops for entertainment, and if we need a TV fix we just go down the block and rent some DVDs. I suppose it'll be even more fun getting the whole first season on DVD next year, but I'm getting a little impatient.

Sure you can. If the future could not be changed, there'd have been no point to sending the first Terminator back in time to begin with, and therefore no point to the entire Terminator story.
Edit:
Then again, if they ever succeed the story (and the movies/series) are pretty much over with for good, too, so don't hope for them too much.

Exactly. If the characters in the TV series succeed, then the series of events in all of the movies and indeed, the TV show itself will cease to exist (because a terminator will never be sent back in time in the first place). Of course, if no terminator is sent back in the first place, and history reverts to "normal," then the original development path for Skynet will re-start and the whole thing will start all over again.
You'll either be stuck in a perpetual loop or you let events play out as they should. There is no point in trying to change things beforehand, the only thing you can do is let things unfold until the first time-jump, and proceed from there.

Time travel stories are nuts anyway. Don't worry about the logic.
Remember, in Terminator 2, the scientist said that he based all his research to produce what eventually became Sky-Net and the Terminators on the parts left behind from the first Terminator, which is an unforgivable paradox.
Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

All you Zombies scenario!!!!
Arnold Schwarzenegger gets another role in the series, goes back in time, impregnates himself, and he gives birth to himself along with Danny DeVito where he has to then become governor so he can get his memory back and save the world!

No, it's a bootstrap paradox.

I thought that paradox simply changed the time at which skynet becomes self-aware (made it earlier or something).

No, he actually said he wouldn't have been able to proceed without a sample of the results of his own work from the future.
Oy.

Oh, well, in that case they really messed up. Just a slight change to the dialog and it all could have made sense...

According to the show, Terminator 3 never happened.
I think it's better that way anyway.

The Terminator was HAWT, though. Only reason I watched it.

'Fraid I didn't like it. I kept thinking "how many times can he shoot and miss that kid?" and the bank vault scene reminded me more of Oceans 11 than anything, well, sci fi..
Some of the fem. terminator's responses were humorous but it also only reminded me of Arnold's lock on that kind of delivery.

The LA Times review noted that the Lena Headey (Sarah) is actually only 14 years older than Thomas Dekker (John), who just turned 20 last month.
