If the ball is traveling at the same but opposite speed as the truck when it exits the launcher (this is the point where positive acceleration stops), it will drop straight down relative to the ground.  If there were any rotation imparted on the ball, it might roll in that direction (relative to the ground) when it makes contact with the ground.

There is a YouTube video of a Japanese program--which is something of their version of Mythbusters--in which they demonstrate the above. I'll track it down when I get home.

Booya! My personal ratings for this show are back up as of the last episode, which I just bought from iTunes.
Cameron's character is better rounded and I've been calling for her to disassemble an opposing terminator in some way or another from the first episode. Then again, she was getting beat up by a one-handed robot.
Oh yeah, and JC definitely has developed some kind of attachment to Cameron. I wonder where this is going.

In other news...
They are still violating the laws of physics, but I'm not too put off by it.

Season Finale next monday?

If they cancel this after 8 episodes and one season, I'mm'a be miffed.

but I don't want the show cancelled.

Yeah - they could do so much more with it.
Apparently it is fairly low budget.

SGA Season 4 is another one that's been disappointing for me.
I love Amanda Tapping - but it's clear she doesn't have the chemistry with the other actors. They should not have replaced Tori Higgins. If Tori left for her own reasons, they should have offered her more.

She's a girl of action - not an administrator.
Same thing when RDA was made General - it just didn't work.

If John is Kyle's father and Kyle is John's father - yes.
If you remember from T1 - Kyle was not born until after the rise of the machines - he didn't see it happen. So it's possible from a timeline point of view.

It's not until tonight down here.
I knew they wouldn't do it - making Jon his own grandpa and Kyle his own grandpa is just too weird.

The photo a few episodes back ended it for me. The original c. Linda Hamilton in the jeep is just too iconic in my own consciousness and subconscience to be messed with.
