Spore to be simultaneous release
Spore To Be Released Simultaneously On PC And Mac
News.com is reporting that Electronic Arts will announce during this week's MacWorld event that it intends to release the long awaited Will Wright sim-evolution game Spore on both the PC and Mac simultaneously. The story also reports that Spore will be seen running on Macs during the show. There's still no word on a release date for the game, however.

Looks like both big game announcements were held for MW. It's official: all news from now on will only be announced at MacWorlds... hurricane warnings, election results... 
Downside, EA probably still = Cider. 
Edit: And another 90 day exclusive on it for the Apple Store.

Yes! Latest word is that this year means this year, so the Mac version might be out by... um... 
..before Duke 4Ever... maybe.
Spore Now Set For Release "Before The Holidays"
During a Q&A session for Electronic Arts's financial conference call today with analysts, company execs gave an update on the release date for Spore, the long-in-development evolution sim game from Sims creator Will Wright. EA execs had previously said the game would be released in late March or early April 2008 but now company execs have said the game will be released "before the holidays" in 2008.

Interesting...
Spore Creature Editor To Be Released Before Game
Joystiq reports that before Will Wright's evolution sim game Spore ships to stores in early September, Maxis and EA will release a stand alone version of Spore's creature editor beforehand. The creatures created in the separate version will be playable in the full game when it is released. More details, including pricing and release date, were not revealed.

I read every post in this thread to make sure that the 9/7/08 confirmed date was mentioned.
Now that I know, I'll move on. I have faith that it will release on that date because we're talking about EA, the supreme deity of the "slave-driver game developer" world. It'll come out because they'll make life hellish as "motivation."
